You're Expecting Twins!

I remember this day so clearly when I rec'd a call from my doctor telling me that my ultra sound showed that I was carrying twins. My initial reaction was .... uh oh! This was my first pregnancy and I'd just gotten used to the fact that I was about to bring a baby into the world. Finding out there were two was a bit overwhelming but only for a short time. By the time I called my husband to give him the good news I was happy and excited.

My twin boys are now 25 years old and have grown into men that I'm so proud of.

Today I'd like to share with you what I feel would make great gifts for parents expecting multiples

Twin Strollers & Infant Car Seats

Twenty five years ago I wish that you could have bought this travel system. I think that this is a brilliant idea!

Before mom and babies leave the hospital they will definitely need infant car seats when traveling home from the hospital in a vehicle.

My mother in law and her best friend had a baby shower for me. They bought me a twin stroller, and thinking back it was one of the best gifts that I received.

If you would like to give this as a gift to someone you know and find it a bit expensive, maybe get together with a group of people to purchase it.

The Infant car seats pictured here will hold a baby that is 5-25 pounds, and up to 29'. Graco Ready2Grow Duo Stroller has Over 12 riding options from infancy to youth.

Twins and Multiples

Are you expecting twins, a parent of twins, or know someone that is having twins?

Bassinet and Playpen All In One

Double bassinets that can be used in the playpen, or removed from the playpen. When the baby outgrows the bassinet they can easily nap in the playpen. All items easy fold into a carrying bag for easy travel or storage.

The bassinets are quilted and have domes to shield the babies from bright light. Playpen is quite room as you can see in the picture below.

Cribs for Twins

When I had my twins we had two separate cribs for them. If you don't have a large enough room to hold two cribs you may want to consider a crib built for two.

Memories

When Allan and Matthew were just over a year old we would often go into their room first thing in the morning and find them soundly asleep in the same crib. The first time we saw this we were quite surprised as we always put them to bed in their own cribs.

More Gift Ideas

High Chairs are always a welcomed gift.

A large diaper bag.

Clothing that will fit them when they are first born and clothing that they'll grow into.

Mobiles to entertain them while they fall asleep.

Baby monitor.

A basket filled with bath needs such as; facecloths, towels, baby shampoo, baby soap, diaper rash cream, diapers, rubber duckies, and a baby thermometer.

Crib pads, bedding, and blankets.

Baby bottles.

Gift certificates.

An offer to babysit.

Rattles.

Bouncier seats.

Baby Swings.

Nice, simple lens, direct and rich with information. Good job (even if it reminded me of my six months of never enough rest.)

Okay I'm going to cry looking at the photos, it seems like they were little just yesterday. I still remember your baby shower! Great recommendations from a mom who became an expert at taking care of two babies at once! :)

They are so adorable. My niece also had twins and it is quite a handful but also double the laughter. Loved seeing them grow.

It's amazing how much more is now available to the mothers of multiples. Great gift suggestions here. The memories, and the photos of your boys, are precious. Something to treasure forever.

Those boys were adorable babies and youngsters, and I'm sure they're just as adorable now, (though we don't dare say that to them!) A wonderful lens about the joys of having twins. My daughter's only problem was that one could be asleep, the other awake and begin crying, which would wake the sleeping one, and then they'd both cry! But it was cute and sweet just the same.

I guess you have to think double on everything, and that can add up. Good planning makes a difference.
