10 Things Mothers Always Say To Their Children
My mother always said this!!
I told myself I would never become my mother. Well, I did!! How about you? Do you remember your mother telling you to eat your broccoli, wear clean underwear, don't go outside with wet hair??. Yeah, our mothers did say those things. And now look at you!!! You have become your mother!!!! Oh my!!. Here I have put together the ten of my favorite things moms always said.Do you remember??
By the way: The picture here is of me at 26 and my daughter, Holli. She is grown with three kids of her own now. Does she say any of these?? I am sure she does.
Eat your vegetables!!
Now we all knew why mom wanted us to eat our vegetables. Because they are good for us.But the taste was yucky.I remember gagging on stuff I didn't like. I just couldn't make myself eat certain things. Now that I am grown up. I love vegetables. I love all kinds. I even found out that I liked asparagus, which i couldn't stand as a child. I think even though our children don't eat all of their vegetables most still grow up healthy. As long as good nutritional food is offered.
Veggies we hated
When we were kids
What vegetable could you not stand when you were a kid??
Because I said so!!!!!!
Because your mom says
Honestly that is the silliest excuse for a why question. Why can't they just tell you the reason for having to pick up your toys?."So, you don't step on them, Cathy". "But mom, I won;'t step on them, I promise"."You still have to pick them up Cathy!!" But mom why?? "Because I said so"!!! It is so much easier just to say that in the beginning now isn't it??
Wear a sweater or you will catch your death of cold!!
I am not sure why people thought that cold weather would cause you to catch a cold. But even today people still believe this.According to the web site Web MD: The most common causes of the common cold are viruses There is no evidence that you can get a cold from exposure to cold weather or from getting chilled or overheated But a person can still get frostbite without wearing warming clothes and hats and gloves in freezing weather. So maybe we should listen to our mothers after all.

Are your arms broke??
This one I remember well because when I stayed with my aunt she used to say this to me a lot. Then, I carried it down to my children. They would tell me they could not do something and I would ask them "Why, are your arms broke?" They always ended up doing whatever it was that I asked. So, Are your arms broke??
When my son, Kevin was about 8, he fell and broke his collar bone. So, he had his arm in a cast. He loved to poke fun at me and say. Yes, Mom my arm is broke. I thought that was cute.
