Ride A Cockhorse To Banbury Cross

Ride A Cockhorse To Banbury

Cross

Ride a cockhorse to Banbury Cross

To see a fine lady upon a white horse

Rings on her fingers

And bells on her toes

She shall have music

Wherever she goes

Ride Away, Ride Away

Ride Away, Ride Away

Ride away, ride away

Johnny shall ride

And he shall have pussy-cat

Tied to one side

And he shall have little dog

Tied to the other

And Johnny shall ride

To see his grandmothe

Ring A Ring A Roses

Ring A Ring A Roses

Ring-a-ring o' roses,

A pocket full of posies,

A-tishoo, a-tishoo!

We all fall down.

Mummy in the teapot,

Daddy in the cup,

Baby in the saucer,

We all jump up.

Ring-a-ring o' roses,

A pocket full of posies,

A-tishoo, a-tishoo!

We all fall down.

The cows are in the meadow,

Eating buttercups,

A-tishoo, a-tishoo!

We all jump up

When the bough breaks the cradle will fall

Down will come the cradle, baby and all

Round And Round The Garden

Round and round the garden

Like a teddy bear

One step, two steps

Tickly under there

Round and round the haystack

Went the little mouse

One step, two steps

In his little house

Merrily merrily, merrily

life is but a dream

Gently down the stream

If you see a crocodile

don't forget to scream

Row, row, row your boat

Gently down the stream

Merrily merrily, merrily

life is but a dream

Lots of memories here. Every so often one will come to mind, but invariably my husband won't know it...I think he had a WEIRD childhood. ;)

I hadn't seen this set of lenses before, great niche to create. 5***** Did you know that in the centre of Banbury there is a statue called Banbury Cross? Nice to see the CORRECT version of "Ring a ring of roses". Over here they think it's "ring around the rosie" and then they say "ashes ashes" instead of "a-tishoo". I know ashes were supposed to ward off the plague, but wonder where the different set of words come from.
