Updated on October 3, 2011

Tips and Ideas for making your party a success!

What could be more fun that throwing a web-slinging, wall-crawling party? Take a look at some "Marvel"-ous tips and ideas for your Spiderman Party.

Whether you're new to Spiderman parties or a seasoned veteran this lens should help to get your creative juices flowing. You'll find ideas and products to fit just about any budget. Check back often as I'm always coming up with more ideas and tips for your super hero party!

Fun Food Ideas

Here are some ideas for food to serve your little hero's. These can be stand alone items, or buffet style depending on your party.

Pizza ~ after all Peter Parker was a delivery boy for Joe's Pizza.

Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches~ cut into spider shapes (cookie cutters work best)

Doc Ock Dogs ~ cut the ends into eight sections, when they are boiled they curl like tenticles. Boys love this one!

Spidey Webs ~ shoestring licorice, red or black.

Green Goblin Pumpkin Balls ~ popcorn balls with orange food coloring.

Sandman Power Mix ~ a dark bowl full of trail mix works great.

Super Power Punch ~ fruit Punch with Sprite adds just the right zing.

Green Goblin Juice ~ lemonade Kool-aide and gingerale, for extra fun add lime sherbet to this mix.

You can get keep the traditional chips, pretzels and fingerfoods, be creative and place cards in front of the items with the "new" Spiderman name to it.

Let's face it, most kids will eat any kind of cake, adults too for that matter. If your niche is baking, these photos or products may help to inspire you. For those that don't bake, any plain white cake can be turned into a Spiderman cake with the right embellishments. Cupcakes tend to be a big hit as well. Red or Blue frosting with a Spiderman pick or topper can be a huge success.

The color theme for a spiderman party is red, blue, and black (for Spiderman 3) or white (for the traditional Spiderman).

Tablecloth ~ this can be white, blue, red or spiderman print.

Streamers and Balloons ~ can be white, blue or red. Run some red and blue streamers down the center of the table. You can hang black in the shape of spiderlegs above the tables. Place white, blue or red balloons and streamers around the room and in doorways.

Centerpiece ~ fashion a centerpiece with a Spiderman toy, the birthday cake, or a bouquet of balloons placed inside a Spiderman gift bag. Scatter some toy spiders around the table. Add matching plates, napkins and cups.

Extra Excitement ~

Add a few
Spiderman posters on the walls (I did this and then gave them away as party favors)

Silly string cans
Depending on where you throw your party..this gets messy!

I was able to find Spiderman Posters at the Dollar Tree store, I bought them about a month in advance when I saw them. Those kinds of deals you have to get them while you can! So be on the look-out.

You will find some great products for decorating below as well.

Just as with any Spiderman party idea, you can

get as creative with loot bags too. Who says it has to be a bag? You can also put many treats into a Spiderman cup, bucket, or on a plate and wrap with plastic wrap. The possibilities are endless!

A great craft idea for adding extra fun to the party is for the kids to make their own goody bags. Print the Spiderman Theme Song (found on this lens) and paste it to the front of a blue, red or white bag. Embellish with stickers and you've got a unique one of a kind treat bag! An awesome idea if a Pinata is hanging around. ;)

Spiderman Theme Song Lyrics

Spider-man, Spider-man

Does whatever a spider can

Spins a web, any size

Catches thieves, just like flies

Look out! Here comes the Spider-man!

Is he strong? Listen, Bud!

He's got radioactive blood.

Can he swing from a thread?

Take a look overhead.

Hey there, there goes the Spider-man!

In the chill of night,

At the scene of the crime

Like a streak of light

He arrives just in time

Spider-man, Spider-man

Friendly neighborhood Spider-man

Wealth and fame, he's ignored

Action is his reward

To him, life is a great big bang-up

Wherever there's a hang-up

You'll find the Spider-man!

Game Ideas

Spiderman Pinata ~ Always a party favorite! Don't forget to use the goody bag craft idea above with this one!

Super Hero Lungs ~ This competition is very easy. The participants get the balloons and begin to blow them up when you say "go". The player whose balloon bursts is out of the game. The player who blows the biggest balloon is the winner.

Giant Web Hunt ~ Everyone loves a treasure hunt, especially when it means unraveling this web of fun! For each guest, you will need a small gift or favor bag item and a long piece of yarn. Before the party, cut several pieces of yarn about 15-20 ft. long and attach a small toy to the end of each one. Hide the toys in drawers, cupboards, under chairs, etc. Slowly stretch each length of yarn around the room, wrapping

them around furniture and intertwining them with other pieces until you have used all the pieces. This will create a massive web!

Attach the name of a guest to the end of each piece of yarn. When the children find their names they may begin to unravel the spider web. They're sure to giggle as they get caught in this giant spider web, and they'll definitely love the prizes at the end!

Pin the Spider on the Web ~ Use a large poster board and create a web. Cut small spiders and have the kids pin the spider on the web. The one that gets closest to the center wins. Just like pin the tail on the donkey.

Venom Tag ~ You can choose any villain for the title of this game. A great way to burn energy! Select one player to be the villain. When the game begins the villain chases the other players. Once a player is tagged, they become the new villain. Establish a time-out area using red and blue streamers. This will be where the children go when they need a rest. If possible, ensure the play is fair and that all of the children are allowed a turn to be the villain.

Sandman Dig If you have a sandbox this is a great idea and lot's of fun for the little ones. Hide secret surprises (the marvel figure vending collection are great!) inside the sand. Kids get a shovel or use their hand to dig through Sandman's Pit!

Pumpkin Ball Bang! Blow up Orange balloons with a party ticket inside. Write the word Spiderman Winner on one ticket. Have the kids each grab a "pumpkin ball" and on the count of three they sit on them and "BANG" they pop. The lucky hero with the Spiderman Winning Ticket gets a special treat!

Get Creative and PLAY!

Keep the Party Going for a Lifetime

Keep those precious memories in a scrapbook so that they last a lifetime. The kids love to look back on favorite parties. Be sure to pick up some Spiderman embellishments!
