The KisKise Waterproof Baby Sling and How You Can Carry Your Baby Everywhere

Updated on February 12, 2015

If there's one baby product I truly could not have lived without, it would have been this one - the KisKise Water Sling Baby Carrier.  I tried my best to carry my baby everywhere, so I accumulated quite the collection of baby carriers - some cute, some lightweight, some heavy-duty, some just for newborns, even some specifically for my husband. But only one was waterproof, only one could be used in the shower (yes, in the shower!), and only one actually weighed less than a burp cloth - the KisKise water sling.

I actually never planned for this product. It did not work its way onto my baby registry like the others. In fact, I never knew it existed. I came to it in a moment of desperation because my baby hated to be bathed...and I mean, he hated it. Screams that he choked on. After some extensive research I found that many mothers had found success with showering with their little ones. It actually had lots of benefits like anxiety relief, bonding, and even breastfeeding promotion.  Sure enough, he loved it. It actually seemed to calm him! Only problem?  A little baby in the shower is like a slimy eel in your arms. It is a recipe for disaster.

An overnight delivery was thankfully able to fix all of that. I found the KisKise online and it truly changed my life. The shower became safe. And I became one of the few new mothers that got to shower everyday.

I started using the water sling when my baby was 4 weeks old. It was the middle of winter, so I was not yet able to experience its other benefits outside of the shower, but I didn't have to wait long for that. Thanks to generous grandparents, my baby and I were off to Hawaii when he turned 4 months old. There were a lot of items that made traveling with a baby easier, but none as much as this one. This was the second time my KisKise changed my life - we were out on the boat almost everyday!

The KisKise is so lightweight that you can shove it in any diaper bag and not know the difference. It not only dries quickly, but it also allows your baby's skin to breathe while you're holding him, which makes it perfect for hot or humid weather.

Some baby carriers were ok, some were useless, and some I could not have lived without. Thankfully this one, without a doubt, was one of those.

Here's a great addition to the water sling - it makes it even MORE useful.

These teething rings have so many amazing uses.I would loop a few around the KisKise sling so that my baby could chew on them. When he became old enough, I could also attach other favorite toys so that he couldn't throw them.

Have you had experience with a baby carrier you loved?
