Umbrella Strollers That Recline Flat

Updated on February 12, 2014

Top Umbrella Strollers That Lay Flat (Or Close To It)

Pictured to the left is the Inglesnia Trip umbrella stroller. It is one of a handful of top rated lightweight umbrella strollers that actually lay all the way back.

Most umbrella strollers are designed for size and weight and they have limitations on features. Many do not offer reclining seat backs at all and some recline only a little bit.

Below I've listed the best fully reclining umbrella strollers for sale today. Most have older versions available that sell for even less. Remember, the younger the baby the most important it is that they lay flat. I hope the list helps you out.

The Best Umbrella Strollers That Fully Recline

Each of the strollers featured below recline to a flat or "near-flat" position making them perfect for parents who want a small stroller and infant babies that need to lay all the way back for head support and better sleep. These are not the cheapest umbrella strollers on the market but they are excellent strollers and worth every penny.

Chicco Liteway Plus Stroller

I love this stroller because it not only lays down flat but it is also sturdy enough to carry a car seat. if you've ever had a baby before then you know exactly how important this is. I can't count the amount of times I had to wake my son up by transferring him from the car seat into the stroller. As a parent you need this as an option and the Liteway Plus does. Plus if your child ever falls asleep on the ride you can lay him all the way back. Nice.

The First Years Ignite Stroller

When my wife and I were shopping for our first strollers for our soon-to-be baby we didn't fully get how important this was. In the beginning we wore our newborn in various wraps but eventually it got much easier to put him in a stroller wherever we went. The problem however was how frequently our little dude fell asleep.

Early on young infants can't keep their heads propped up and they don't even come close to it when they sleep. When we finally upgraded to something that allowed our son to lay his head all the way back he finally started napping better on walks and we felt better about taking him out around the block too.

If you are even considering something for a newborn then you have to get something that lays all the way back. It may not be quite as important for older babies and toddlers but for infants it's very important.

Other Lightweight Strollers That Lay Flat

These may not be made in the umbrella style but they do lay flat making them good options for parents of newborn infants.
