Monikas Marketplace Vented Microwave Cover

Updated on July 25, 2015

I received a clear Vented Microwave Cover for free from Monikas Marketplace in exchange only for an honest unbiased review of the product.

Vented Microwave Cover

The Vented Microwave Cover is a BPA free microwave plate cover that was lab testes and certified to contain no BPA and to be microwave safe. This Vented Microwave Cover is designed to act as a food cover for plates being microwaved to keep microwaves safe and clean from food splatter. This Vented Microwave Cover fits standard sized dinner plates best (standard size is 10.5 inch diameter with a 3.5 inch height. The Vented Microwave Cover is high enough to prevent food from touching the cover directly. The handle makes the cover easy to place and remove from a dinner plate both in the microwave an outside of the microwave.

The Vented Microwave Cover is particularly easy to clean. It can be cleaned by hand just using dish soap and water, it can be wiped off with a wet paper towel and then air dried or toweled dry, and/or it can be cleaned in the dishwasher. However if it is cleaned in the dishwasher it must be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher and NOT the bottom rack.

The Vented Microwave Cover arrived to me in a cardboard box from Monikas Marketplace. When I opened the box I found the Vented Microwave Cover in a plastic wrapping to prevent the Vented Microwave Cover from becoming scratched during shipping. The Vented Microwave Cover arrived to me in perfect condition without and damage what so ever on it. You can see how it looked when it arrived in the image to the right.

As I wrote in the disclaimer "I received a clear Vented Microwave Cover for free from Monikas Marketplace in exchange only for an honest unbiased review of the product". As soon as this vented microwave cover arrived I was excited to test it. You might ask why I was excited to test a microwave cover and the answer is because it could help me to be more environmentally friendly and to save money on paper towels. I end up using a lot of paper towels to cover food in the microwave and to clean the microwave when I forget to cover my food with paper towels.

The first item I tested this microwave cover with was on some left over Chinese food. I used this cover on my tofu, rice, and on my sweet and sour soup. Yes you read that right I was able to use this for soup as well. For this vented cover to be used with soup the bowl just need to be shorter (cereal bowls work great) so that the cover can cover it completely. The vented microwave cover saved my microwave from getting splashed with hot and sour soup when it overflowed. I then tasted the soup (after it has cooled a bit) and it tasted great! I would even go as far to say that it tasted better than when I reheated it with just a paper towel covering it. It was easy enough to clean the soup off the cover I just rinsed it off in the kitchen sink and then dried it with a hand towel.

My rice, did not explode at all thankfully, but it did turn out better with the cover over it. The cover kept my rice from drying out in the microwave. The rice tasted like it was freshly made without me having to do anything to it at all. My tofu also came out for the better since it remained moist and not dried out. After I finished enjoying my Chinese food I placed the vented microwave cover in the dishwasher TOP SHELF added the soap and set it to run. The cover cleaned up great and remain undamaged after its run through the dishwasher.

Overall I absolutely love this cover because it will save me a ton of money that I would normally spend on paper towels, but also and just as important in helps me to be more environmentally friendly. I would recommend this item to anyone who reheats food in the microwave on at least a semi-regular basis. It will save you a lot of money, make clean up easier, and help you to live green. This item would also make a good gift for anyone who doe a lot of reheating in the microwave and/or likes to live in an environmentally friendly way.

Your product review hubs are interesting, but could benefit from one more bit of information about each product, and that is, country of manufacture.
