10 Easy to Prepare Shakes and Smoothies for Kids and Young at Heart

There are many kids out there that do not buy the idea of eating fruits and vegetables. This may let them missed out in eating nutritious foods which are vital in making them strong and healthy. Worry no more, since there are easy to prepare and cheap recipes to make shakes and smoothies for your kids. These recipes are loaded with vitamins and minerals since it have fruits and vegetables. Ah, this treats are also a perfect for adults or should I say young at heart.

Here are the following ingredients to make refreshing shakes and smoothies:

1 medium banana, a half cup of frozen peach slices, 4 oz of yogurt and ice cubes

or

1 medium banana, ½ ripe papaya, a tbsp calamansi (orange or lemon) juice and 2 tbsp of honey, cream and ice cubes

or

1 mango, ¼ small melon, 1 4 oz yogurt and ice cubes

or

1 cup pineapple, 1 carrot, 1 tbsp sugar and ice cubes

or

6 strawberries, 1 banana, 4 oz yogurt, ½ cup strawberry ice cream and ¼ cup milk

or

1 medium banana, 2 tbspns of chocolate syrup, 2 tbspns of creamy peanut butter and 8 oz of yogurt

or

1 apple, 1 medium banana, 1 carrot and ice cubes

or

½ cup squash puree, peaches, 4 oz milk, a dash of cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg and a dash of honey

or

Pineapple, coconut juice, ½ cup coconut meat, 1 medium banana and ice

or

2 oranges, 1 avocado, 2 medium bananas, honey, 4 oz yogurt and ice

Procedure in making the smoothie or shakes:

Slice fruits and freeze all the ingredients in one serving using ice bags. Mix and blend. Presto, now you have a very tasty and delicious smoothie or shake cravings which are perfect anytime of the day. This is great treat especially during summertime.

      Squash puree in Shakes/Smoothies. That's interesting. I would want to try it one of these days and see if I can get my kids to drink this. Fruits and vegetables are really healthy for kids.
