2 Organic Food and Beverage Products for Kids

Updated on December 22, 2007

As the benefits of organic foods are becoming more well known, food manufacturers are bringing a wide variety of new organic product to market. A number of companies are specializing in creating delicious organic foods just for kids. Some of the great organic foods for kids I've come across lately are detailed below.

Organic Beverages

Honest Kids Drink Pouches

Somehow, I'm sure these are much more healthy than the pouch style drinks I enjoyed as a kid. These delicious healthy juice drinks have no high fructose corn syrup and have significantly fewer calories than most beverages designed for kids. They have no artificial ingredients and are USDA certified organic. Each serving has 100 percent of the RDA for Vitamin C.

Available flavors include:

  • Tropical Tango Punch
  • Grape (pictured)
  • Berry Berry Good Lemonade

By the way, the same company that makes Honest Kids juice boxes also makes several organic beverages for adults. See Honest Tea's website for more details.

Organic Baby Food

Plum Organics Frozen Baby Food

Plum Organics makes stages 1, 2, and 3 baby foods that are rich in key nutrients necessary for infant growth and development. Not your typical baby food flavors, the Plum Organics frozen baby food line features a wide variety of unique and interesting flavors.

Flavor selections include:

  • Black Bean Tomato Ragout
  • Mango Musesli
  • Pears & Apples
  • Pumpkin Banana
  • Red Lentil Veggie
  • Super Greens
  • Sweet Potatoes

The idea behind creating such unusual flavors of organic baby food is the belief that children who are exposed to a variety of flavors and textures from an early age are likely to have more adventurous palates throughout life.

Any Other Suggestions?

These are just two of the many different organic product lines designed to meet the nutritional needs of children. If you come across any other great organic goodies that kids are sure to love, feel free to post information about them in the comments section below.
