Easy Delicious Desserts

The recipes below are very versatile, extremely yummy and only require two or three ingredients. When I first started making these easy desserts, I was shocked at how tasty they are. I figured less ingredients meant less taste, but I was wrong. Not only are they delicious, but most of them can be eaten while dieting.

This cake recipe is extremely flexible. You can use pretty much any kind of canned fruit or pie filling. Just make sure to use the entire can (don't drain the liquid out).

Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 25 min
Ready in: 30 min
Yields: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 box Angel Food cake mix
  • 20 oz can of fruit or pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease 9X13 pan
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the angel food cake mix and the can of fruit or pie filling.
  4. Pour into the pan and bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Use a toothpick in the middle to make sure it's done.

I Use A Glass Baking Pan

Although you can use metal baking pans, I use a glass baking pan when making these cakes. I prefer glass because I like to see all the sides of the cake, plus glass is way easier to clean than metal. I also think that the plastic lids are a little more presentable than the tin foil that most metal pans are covered with.

Mocha Angel Food Cake Recipe

This recipe can be adapted to use any kind of liquid Coffee-Mate creamer and it can be made with or without the syrup. We chose to use mocha because it gives it a chocolate flavor with a slight coffee flavored kick.

Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 25 min
Ready in: 30 min
Yields: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 box of Angel Food cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cup Cafe Mocha liquid Coffee-Mate
  • 1 drizzle of caramel syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease 9X13 pan
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the angel food cake mix and the liquid Coffee-Mate.
  4. Pour into the pan. Drizzle caramel syrup back and forth and then use a knife to lightly cut it into the cake.
  5. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Use a toothpick in the middle to make sure it's done.

FYI

My husband and I stopped eating Little Debbie snack cakes and started eating these Angel Food cakes instead. Within 2 weeks, we had each lost 5 pounds.

Caramel apple crescents are easy to make and they taste amazing. They're like little individual caramel apple pies! Because they taste best warm, I always make them right before dinner and then midway through dinner, I put them in the oven. They're ready to come out of the oven right as we're finished so we can end dinner with a little taste of heaven.

Caramel Apple Crescents Recipe

This recipe gives you 8 caramel apple crescent rolls, so technically it could serve 8 people. But I can guarantee you won't get away with just giving each person 1 roll. I would plan on at least 2 per person.

If you want to jazz it up a little, serve it with a scoop of ice cream.

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 15 min
Ready in: 25 min
Yields: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 can of crescent rolls
  • 1 can of apple pie filling
  • caramel syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Roll out and separate the dough like you're making regular crescent rolls.
  3. Place on apple slice on the widest end of the roll.
  4. Drizzle with caramel syrup and then roll up.
  5. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes (until they're golden brown).
  6. After you plate each roll, drizzle a bit of caramel sauce over each one. Eat while still warm.

Make Clean-Up Easier

I'm all about the easy clean-up. I don't like washing a bunch of dishes and I really hate scrubbing pans. That's why I use these easy foil sheets on my metal cookie pans. I just put a sheet down and this keeps the pan completely clean from food. I don't know about you, but I'd rather throw my pans away than try to scrub off baked on caramel.

These foil sheets are for more than just keeping your pans clean. They can also be used to wrap potatoes for baking and to wrap corn for grilling.

      I have to try these. Definitely bookmarking this lens. Caramel is my go to flavor now that I had to give up chocolate and caffeine, so these are right up my alley.
