Top Of The Line 34 Oz Travel Mugs & Insulated Bottles

Updated on January 10, 2013

Looking for a high quality extra large travel mug or bottle for your coffee? These are the best options you have.

Avid coffee drinkers tend to drink a lot of coffee and they all seem to prefer piping hot coffee instead of lukewarm coffee. Thsi is no surprise by any means but it does mean that larger travel mugs and thermal beverage bottles have to be up to the challenge of keeping things hot on the inside.

Unfortunately when you start getting much bigger than 24 ounces in size most coffee travel mugs start taking on different shapes and forms. Pictured to the left is the Thermos Nissan vacuum insulated bottle. This thing is awesome for keeping a lot of coffee hot on the go for a long time but it doesn't work exactly the way a standard travel mug works.

In my opinion it's the best large capacity travel coffee container of it's kind but there are of course other options that other people would prefer.

Below I've featured this insulated coffee bottle along with other insulated bottles and large capacity travel mugs. My hope is that no matter what style of coffee container you are looking for you'll find the best options in the style at this size point somewhere her on this page.

The Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Stainless-Steel Vacuum Insulated Briefcase Bottle

If you need a travel coffee thermos that will keep a lot of coffee hot for a very long time then this is what you've been looking for. It is rated to keep coffee piping hot for 12 hours or more which is about as good as it gets. It is leak proof to the point that it can be thrown in a briefcase, backpack, piece of luggage or purse and not have to worry about spillage or seepage. The lid doubles as a small drinking cup too meaning you don't have to travel with two bottles at the same time.

One thing to remember about this thermally insulated beverage bottle is that it doesn't have a conventional drinking spout. You have to remove the lid to drink straight from the bottle or pour your coffee from it into the lid which can be used as a cup or another mug. Some people don't want anything to do with this but for my purposes this is fine by me. I can brew a pot of good coffee at home and seal it in this and then use it all day long at the office, on the road, or even at home.

Looking For A Classic Style 34 Ounce Travel Mug With Drinking Spout?

These are some decent 34 ounce mugs out there but it's worth noting that they are no where near as good as the vacuum bottles, carafes, and smaller travel mugs on the market. Having said that they are still high quality coffee mugs - just not as good as their smaller counterparts. Below I've featured a few 34 ounce large travel coffee mugs. Lower on this page I've also taken the liberty to feature a few alternative thermal beverage bottles and carafes which may be better suited to your needs.

If you are fine leaving the standard travel coffee mug behind then your next best option in these larger sizes is to get a high performance thermo-insulated beverage bottle. Other than the Nissan featured at the top of this page I've also included a few more of the best rated 34oz coffee bottles designed for portability. Unless you are sitting in a boardroom all day long then these travel bottles will be perfect.

Higher Quality (And Smaller) Travel Mugs With Drinking Holes

I love the functionality of a true travel mug. You don't' need to worry about lids and pouring drinks out of a bottle into a drinking cup. The only problem with them is that there just isn't much variety in mugs when they are so big. The following two mugs are top of the line insulated coffee mugs. They aren't 34 ounces but they aren't small either.

Contigo AUTOSEAL West Loop Stainless Steel 20-Ounce Travel Mug

This is one of the best selling travel coffee mugs of all kinds and all sizes. It is essentially leak proof, spill proof, and it will keep your coffee hot for most of the day. I know, 20 ounces is a lot less than 34 but it is the best option of them over 20oz.

If you simply need something bigger that has a drinking spout the Copco Big Joe is a great alternative to the Bubba Brand mugs. This one is among the largest travel mugs of its kind outside of Bubba Brand and ThermoServ.
