Healthy Vegan Smoothie Recipes

If you find it difficult to consume your recommended five a day fruit and vegetables, the easiest way of getting these in is to blend them up. Smoothies are quick to make and they are easy to digest too. Why not improve your health by having at least one smoothie a day. These four delicious smoothie recipes can improve your health and help you get your five day in. Why not try them out?

Smoothie # 1

Blood Building Smoothie

This smoothie is excellent for your blood function is great for cleansing the bloodstream because it contains beetroot. It is also excellent for fighting disease and infection and obliterating free radicals in the system.

Here is what you need:

¼ avocado


2 apples

½ raw beetroot

2 small-medium sized carrots

¼ lemon, peeled and chopped


  1. Put the avocado into the blender

  2. Juice the apples, beetroot, carrot and lemon. Put the lemon between the apples and beetroot to faciliate the juicing process.

  3. Pour the freshly made juice into the blender with the avocado and some ice. Blend everything together until smooth.

  4. Note you might need about ¼ cup of water for blending. However, this may not be necessary depending on the strength of your blender. The juice should be sufficient.

Storage: This juice should be consumed on the same day, it can be kept in the fridge. However, you should really finish it on the same day.

Smoothie #2

Mango and Strawberry Body Booster

This next smoothie recipe is very sweet and delicious and it will help you to curb your sweet cravings. It contains high levels of potassiun and also has zinc, iron, calcium and plenty of vitamin A, B and C.

Here is what you need:

½ large ripe mango, peeled and de-stoned

1 handful of strawberries

¼ cup almond milk, or more depending on the quality of your blender

2 apples, choppped to facilitate the blending process



Put the mango, strawberries and apple into the blender. Add the almond milk and the ice, blend until smooth.

Smoothie # 3

Rocket Fuel Smoothie

This smoothie will give you energy and it will help you to fight against disease. There is plenty of vitamin A and C in this smoothie as well as, folate, calcium and phytochemicals. Rocket is also an excellent source of iron. The phytochemicals that provide rocket with it's bright green colour can actually help your body to fight disease. Avocados are an amazing source of carbohydrates and essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are actually essential for the efficient functioning of the human body. They support the cardiovascular system, the reproductive system and the immune system. A diet that is low in essential fatty acids can lead to various health problems, even heart disease.

Here is what need:

¼ ripe avocado


2 apples

1 stick of celery

¼ cucumber

1 handful of wild rocket


1.Put the the avocado into the blender and set aside

  1. Juice the apples, celery, cucumber and rocket

  2. Pour the freshly made juice into the blender with some ice and juice until smooth

Smoothie # 3

Fennel Fuel Smoothie

This is a delicious smoothie is excellent for digestive problems. If you suffer with bloating, excess wind or gas, IBS and stomach cramps, this is a good smoothie for you to try out. Fennel has been used for years as a digestive aid, it goes as far back as the Ancient Egyptians. It is known as being an appetite suppressant too therefore, it is great for people who are trying to lose a bit of weight. It can help you to curb your cravings as well. Try this smoothie and see your cravings disappear in a matter of weeks.

Here is what you need:

¼ ripe avocado

1/3 medium pineapple

2cm fresh fennel

¼ cucumber, chopped

½ lime, peeled



  1. Put the avocado flesh into the blender and set aside

  2. Juice the pineapple, fennel, cucumber and lime by placing the fennel and lime in between the pineapple chunks.

  3. Pour the freshly made juice into the blender with the avocado and blend until smooth.

      Thank you very much for your comments. Avocado makes it very creamy and less watery. You should try it out! Let me know when you do. Yes fennel is great with smoothies it just depends on the combinations. I am going to be loading up a lot more smoothie recipes in the next few weeks so stay tuned and come and check them out.       That beet smoothie looks amazing! I've never had avocado in my smoothies, but it seems to be a popular idea. I'll have to give this one a try :)

      We often enjoy smoothies; they're a great way to add fresh fruits and veggies to our diet. I'd never thought of some of you combinations, though, especially adding fennel root to a smoothie. I look forward to trying it! Voted up and shared!
