5 Foods That Can Supercharge your Metabolism: A Must Read!

If you have been battling with weight loss for years, and you find it hard to shed those extra pounds. Did you know there are certain foods they you can consume to help to speed up your metabolism? When you change your eating habits, be sure to include these things into your diet for maximum weight loss.

Hot Peppers

Jalepeno peppers, chilli pepper or cayenne pepper. Any hot pepper can help to speed up your metabolism. Hot peppers contain capsaicin which helps to increase blood circulation and increase the rate in which your body metabolises fat. After you have eaten something hot and spicy you will often feel quite warm, you may even sweat. This is your body's metabolic rate increasing, studies have shown that eating hot pepper can increase your metabolism by up to 25 percent. Studies have also shown that the temporary increase in metabolism can last for a maximum of three hours. So, it its time to get out those hot chilli peppers.


Brocoli helps to detox the body, it is also very high in calcium and various other vitamins. Such as vitamin C, K and A. Eating brocoli can aid digestion and cleanse the system, when your body digests food efficently it will also burn fat faster.

Green Tea

If you want to lose weight, it is a good idea to add green tea to your diet. It is full of antioxidents which are not only good for the health, but they detox the system. Studies have shown that consuming at least three cups of green tea a day can increase the metabolism.


A study that took place at the University of Rio de Janerio showed that women who ate three apples a day lost more weight than those that did not eat them. They came to a conclusion that if you eat at least two apples a day when you are trying to lose weight you could speed up metabolism, making it easier for you to burn those extra pounds.


Although water is not exactly a food, it is very important that you include it in your diet. Replace all sodas and fruit juices with water. Keeping your body hydrated with water can help to increase your metabolism by up to three percent. Drink at least eight large glasses of water a day.
