5 Minute Chocolate Microwave Cake.

Updated on October 4, 2010

I found this recipe on the internet and I think its great! I wouldn't make it for entertaining friends, but its perfect for a quick chocolate fix! Most recipes say to make this in a cup, but personally I prefer a bowl, I think it just gives it a nicer shape, but you can use whatever you like!

Four tablespoons of self raising flour.
Four tablespoons of sugar.
One level teaspoon of baking powder.
Two tablespoons of cocoa powder.
One egg.
Three tablespoons of milk.
One tablespoon of oil. (most recipes say 3 but I find that it makes it too stodgy and hinders rising)

Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa and baking powder in a microwavable bowl, stir in one egg, then add the milk and mix thoroughly with a fork, (you might also like to throw a drop of vanilla essence or some chocolate chips in too at this point, but thats up to you!)
lastly add the oil, make sure it it stirred thoroughly, adding air to the mixture.
Then place in the microwave, do not cover, and heat on full power for three minutes- no more.

Remove from the microwave, and up end onto a plate, pour on some chocolate sauce or spread, honey or cream... whatever you like!

Enjoy!  :)
