You will love these simple and delicious ways to use fresh chives on a variety of foods.

The Versatility Of Chives

The delicate onion-like flavor of fresh chives, make it one of the most versatile herbs to use. Fresh chives can be used at almost every meal and is personally a staple of my own cooking. You will see in the recipes I have listed below that you can easily pair chives with eggs, meats, vegetables, rice and bread. It also makes a difference when your cutting chives fresh when you need them, so you can get the maximum amount of flavor in your cooking.

Not only are fresh chives easy to use, but they're also very simple to grow as well. They grow easily indoors and outdoors, in pots that get enough water to keep the soil damp, as well in an area that gets both light and shade. They do not grow well in extreme heat or humidity, unless they are in an area with part shade and plenty of water. Chives can also be grown year-round in your home or outdoors, as long as they're not in extreme cold or freezing temperatures. So if your looking for ideas on using your fresh chives, check out my five easy ways that I've listed below.

Chives are one of the best herbs you can add to any egg dish! They are not overpowering like a red, yellow, or a white onion, yet they still give your egg dishes a subtle and delicious onion flavor.

Some great egg dishes you can put fresh chives in or on are:

  • scrambled, fried, or poached eggs
