Updated on August 15, 2014

This edition of EASY Cocktails marks 42 recipes in the series, and 42 is my favorite number;

Take it away Dougie!

You won't find the meaning of life within these cocktails, so don't try (besides it's 42 if you must know), though a few consumed together may spark a discussion in this vein...

Now -

Blue Hawaii - Rum Cocktail

Blue Pegu - Gin Cocktail

ChimayĆ³ - Tequila Cocktail

Link Up - Whiskey Cocktail

Funky Monkey - WILD CARD

Blue Lagoon

A simple recipe, vodka provides the non-interfering role, the colour is vibrant, and the cocktail is a little too more-ish.

Required Ingredients;

  • Vodka
  • Blue Curacao
  • Lemonade
  • Ice

Fill a Tall Glass with Ice and add the ingredients as follows;

2 Parts Vodka

1 Part Blue Curacao

6 Parts Lemonade

Stir till blue throughout.

Garnish with a slice of Lemon

Serve with a straw

Blue Hawaii

Yes, another one.. Well actually it's about as blue as the moon, but I'm not going to be held accountable for the apparent disregard held towards naming ethics. Ahem.. Anyway..

Required Ingredients;

  • White Rum
  • Blue Curacao
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Sweet and Sour Mix
  • Ice

Add Ice to your Boston Glass and mix the ingredients as follows;

2 Parts White Rum

1 Part Sweet and Sour Mix

Shake well

Strain the mix into a Hurricane Glass with Ice

Garnish with a Lime or Pineapple Wedge

Serve with a straw

The signature drink of the Pegu Club in Burma, written about by the likes of Rudyard Kipling. It makes up an interesting flavor that amounts to more than simply Sweet and Sour, via the Angostura Bitters.

Required Ingredients;

  • Gin
  • Cointreau
  • Lime Juice
  • Angostura Bitters
  • Ice

Chill a Cocktail Glass

Add the Ingredients to a Boston Glass and shake, the ingredients are measured as follows;

3 Parts Gin

1 Part Cointreau

1 Part Lime Juice

Dash of Angostura Bitters

Strain the mix into the chilled Cocktail Glass

Garnish with peel of grapefruit or a wedge of Lime

Another social club's signature cocktail. Well, actually it's a restaurant, but a restaurant that must have served a lot of drinks.

Required Ingredients;

  • Tequila
  • Apple Cider
  • Lemon Juice
  • Creme de Cassis
  • Ice

Add Ice to a Highball Glass and add the ingredients;

6 Parts Tequila

4 Parts Apple Cider

1 Part Lemon Juice

1 Part Creme de Cassis

Garnish with a slice of Apple

Link Up

Probably the only Cocktail made for astronauts and cosmonauts still in orbit. When the American and Russian spacemen met up for the first international space party in 1975, famous bartender Joe Gilmore of the Savoy in Belfast mixed these up for the first time. He sent the drink to the American and Russian space agencies, for the spacemen to have upon returning to Earth. Reportedly when the Americans were told by mission control, they wanted to know why they couldn't have had them in space.

Required Ingredients;

  • Southern Comfort
  • Vodka (Russian if you can)
  • Lime Juice

Shake the ingredients in a Boston Glass with Ice with the following measures;

1 Part Southern Comfort

1 Part Vodka

1 Teaspoon of Lime Juice

Strain into a Cocktail Glass with Ice

Funky Monkey

The Funky Monkey is wild with flavour, you'll probably never be too sure what it you're getting from it from sip to sip, but it's definitely worth a try..

Required Ingredients;

  • Peach Schnapps
  • Vodka
  • Melon Liqueur
  • Banana Liqueur
  • Orange Juice

Shake up the ingredients with ice in the following measurements;

1 Part Peach Schnapps

1 Part Vodka

1 Part Melon Liqueur

1 Part Banana Liqueur

8 Parts Orange Juice

Strain into a Tall Glass with Ice

Serve with a straw.

You may be disappointed that Douglas Adams (or his work) didn't figure much into this list, sorry, I couldn't help myself with the title! This hub has several sister hubs so if you enjoyed it, Douglas Adams or no, check them out!

      I use to drink cocktails years back, I quit drinking since then though. These drinks definitely look quite tempting I must agree, you must be a bartender. I wonder what the clubs are like these days, maybe I'll get out one night to see the night life scene. I'm from New York City, so I'm sure there gotta be something jumping around this town. Thanks for the Cool stylist hub. Awesome indeed.
