A Childhood Favorite of mine, No Bake Cookies

Updated on August 20, 2012

Growing up, one of the things my mom would always make for us kids were these delicious no bake cookies. The second that mom said the cookies were set up, we would dive in and eat them.

So, when my boyfriend told me that he had NEVER! had no bake cookies, I just blinked at him. Not only had he never had them, neither had his parents! I decided that they needed to try these amazing little cookies from my childhood!

Cook Time

Prep time: 20 min
Ready in: 20 min
Yields: about 2 dozen

  • 1 3/4 c Sugar
  • 1/2 c Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 c Milk
  • 1/2 c Butter
  • 4 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 3 c Oatmel, Traditional oats work the best
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  1. In a medium sauce pan, you will want to bring to a boil the Sugar, Milk, Butter and cocoa on medium heat. Once it is boiling, you will want to make sure that you are consistently stirring, and let it boil for 1.5 minutes. Remove from heat and quickly add the Peanut Butter, Oats, and vanilla and mix well.
  2. As soon as it is mixed, you will quickly need to start dropping spoonfuls of the cookies onto wax paper. The mixture will start to set up almost instantly as soon as it has all the ingredients mixed together, so make sure that you get it spooned out quickly
