The Best Wine Coolers
Wine coolers are essential to serious wine drinkers who store wine for any amount of time. Wines need to be kept in a room or storage area where it they mature and some wines take years to do so.
One important consideration is the temperature. You must
maintain certain levels in order for the wine to mature and improve in quality. For anyone who appreciates
fine wines, the recent developments in wine cooler technology are good news, because today, you can store
your wine properly without needing a wine cellar. Previously, only the very wealthy could afford to create a perfect wine cellar. Now there are counter top models that will store wine in the perfect environment for a few hundred dollars.
This collection of the best wine coolers is written to help you decide which model is right for you. These wine coolers are all compact and have been designed to fit in a household kitchen. They all have the technology to enrich and further improve your wines.
NewAir AW-280E NewAir Thermoelectric Wine Cooler With Touch Screen LED Light
First up is this wine cellar cooler from New Air. At first glance you will see the beauty and simplicity of this unit - the simple black design with chrome racks is eye-catching. With a 28 bottle capacity, it is not the largest available, but the compact design and high tech features make it an attractive buy.
The temperature is controlled digitally using a touch screen, with an LED light which show the exact temperature settings and it has a soft interior light that lets you see the wines.
Great for personal storage of wines, this is a great addition to any sophisticated home. No more buying wine day to day - you can have them on hand as desired.
Whynter WC28S SNO 28 Bottle Wine Cooler, Platinum with Lock
Very new to the market is the Whynter wine cooler, which also offers a 28 storage capacity. A great feature of this model (and why it is a lot more expensive than the previous one) is that there is no vibration.
It is CFC free, so it is also not bad for the environment, at what I consider to be an affordable price! The temperature is totally adjustable, and with varying temperature levels for different kinds of wine. Plus it has a lock, so it might be something you could use in an office setting - perhaps in teh board room or meeting room.
Well made, vibration free and environmentally friendly make this a good choice.
Whynter WC-211DZ 21 Bottle Dual Temperature Zone Wine Cooler, Stainless Steel Trimmed Glass Door with Black Cabinet
This next featured is also from Whynter. They have built a strong reputation out of creating great wine coolers, and the reputation is well deserved - I put them as one of the premier manufacturers, and this unit is representative of their quality.
This is another great wine cellar, albeit a little smaller in capacity than the previous model - 21 bottles, 6 allotted the top shelf at a different temperature to the 15 bottle allotment at the bottom.
Similar to the Whynter WC28S, this also uses thermo cooling with no vibrations at all. This unit is sure to last a long time and is also CFC free. It also has great design that will complement most kitchens.
It is a solid unit with sophisticated temperature controls - highly recommended for a small cooler and well worth the money.
NewAir AW-181E 18 Bottle Wine Cooler With Digital Temperature Readout
This unit is very well designed to match almost any kitchen decor - stainless steel looks good in just about any setting. It has a really sleek design that will comfortable sit on a kitchen counter top without being intrusive.
This has an 18 bottle storage capacity, push button controls that display digital temperature which allows for accurate temperature control. This is also an eco-friendly appliance, and has no ozone damaging effects. The cellar unit is lit with blue LED light, an attractive addition that helps you clearly see the wines inside.
Relatively inexpensive, this would make a great gift for some one with a small space for storage.
Whynter WC-321DD 32 Bottle Dual Temperature Zone Wine Cooler, Stainless Steel Trimmed Glass Door with Black Cabinet
This one is a little bigger than the rest and we are moving up towards professional wine coolers. It can keep up to 32
bottles, 16 in the right and in the left zone. The thermo cooling creates
a perfect environment inside, humid enough to allow for better maturation of
wines. A step up from the previous models.
The temperature and humidity are totally adjustable with each zone so you can run two completely different environments in the two different zones. It also has no vibrations - it is so silent you can barely notice it is turned on.
It is also
CFC free, entirely environment friendly. One of the best semi-professional units on the market. Certainly more expensive then the other on this list, but if you are serious about your wines, this is the model to choose.
