Recipes galore!

My mom loved clipping recipes from boxes, newspapers, and magazines. I have so many pieces of paper with recipes on them and some are starting to fade. I'm in the process of transferring them to my computer.

This fudge recipe came from a box of Domino confectioners sugar. I have no idea what year. I don't follow it to the letter, but you should be able to read it if you want to follow it exactly. Just click on the picture to make it larger.

The recipe below is how I made this particular batch of fudge. I made it for my guy and he hates nuts. I prefer making it with walnuts, but he deserves a treat every now and then! Either way, it's good! Enjoy!

Quick Nut Fudge (minus the nuts!)


Ingredients:



  • 1 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons of margarine
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract



Directions:



  1. Melt margarine in double boiler.
  2. Add milk and vanilla.
  3. Add confectioners sugar slowly.
  4. Add cocoa.
  5. Stir until smooth.
  6. Pour mixture quickly into a buttered dish.
  7. Cool.
  8. Cut into squares and share!

Finished product. Note: as you can tell, my fudge is a tad bit too dry so make sure you measure liquids correctly and spread mixture in dish quickly.

      mmm that looks yummy. I love vintage recipes and my grandmother used to do the same thing. We had boxes of little note cards and scraps. Some of our best "base recipes" have come from those old clippings. We aren't much on sweets around here, but when I want chocolate or fudge, I like the real deal like this :) nice hub.

      Christin, I bet that was awesome seeing all those old clippings! I'm keeping all of my mother's old clippings after I put the recipes on my computer. I wouldn't dare throw them away. I am a bit of a pack-rat!

      I grew up on this fudge, however i lost the cardboard cut out from my Fathers receipe box. I am very glad to find it again. This is the fudge I remember. However my family likes peanut butter fudge. Any ideas hoe to add peanut butter to this

      cinndy 1, I'm not sure how you would add peanut butter to this recipe. You would have to add more of the wet ingredients, but I'm sure you could find the right recipe by trial and error. Good luck and thanks for the comment!

      My grandma used to make this same recipe, however i forgot some of the measurements so I found your recipe. I just made some and its in the fridge cooling now can't wait.
