A Review of Samuel Adams Summer Ale 2015
In this review we will be looking at the 2015 release of Samuel Adams Summer Ale. The beer is brewed by the Boston Beer Company, out of Massachusetts. The style of this beer is American pale wheat ale. The beer clocks in at 5.30% alcohol by volume and is only available during the summer season. The food pairings for this beer are the lighter dishes such as grilled seafood and salads. If you were looking at cheeseparings for this beer I would recommend Chèvre. Well let’s get into the look, smell and taste of the 2015 Samuel Adams Summer Ale.
The look of this beer is hazy and slightly orange in color when held in the light. When poured down the center this beer produced about 3 fingers of a thick, creamy white head. There was some lacing on the glasses but not enough to brag about. Overall the look of this beer was a 3.75 out of 5 stars.
In the aroma department I was really get ginger (like a can of ginger-ale) on this ale. This beer had an interesting mix of very light malt and a slight hint of lemon on the nose. There were also some spices hidden in the background. Overall I would score this beer a 3 out of 5 stars for aroma.
The taste had noticeable wheat malt that is pretty grainy on the palette. The taste blended quickly into a citric lemony/ light spice character. There was also a hint of some oranges in the mix as well. There was a hint of pepper taken right to the finish. Overall clean and refreshing like a summer season beer should be. Overall I scored the taste of this beer as a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Overall this was a good beer, but not a great beer. This is a good beer for summer barbecue parties or trips to the beach. Overall I would score the 2015 Samuel Adams Summer Ale 80 out 100.
