A Simple way to Make Your Own Bruschetta

Updated on December 4, 2014

Great Appetizer

Appetizers are fun to make and display for parties or family gatherings. They can be made with various foods, colors and textures. It is always great to try new and different food combinations that you’ve never tried before because the explosions of flavors in your mouth are exciting. This recipe will take only minutes to make and satisfy the belly while waiting for the main course. I will provide you with an ingredient list and directions so that you can make this recipe with ease. This recipe yields four servings!

  1. 3-4 medium sized tomatoes (chopped)
  2. 4 leaves of basil
  3. 8 slices of thick French bread
  4. 2-3 cloves of garlic ( peeled and sliced in half)
  5. 6tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  6. Mozzarella cheese ( or a cheese of your choosing)
  7. Fresh oregano
  8. Fresh rosemary
  9. ¼ tsp of dried red pepper flakes

Take your chopped tomatoes (their juices) and place them in a bowl, then seasoned them with salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary and red pepper flakes. Now tear your basil leaves then stir them into the tomatoes and allow the mixture to sit for 10-12 minutes. Next place your bread on a broiler to toast them on both sides; you can also toast the bread to achieve the same results. Then take a piece of garlic and rub one side of toasted bread slices to ensure that the garlic flavor is on the bread. Now spread your tomato mixture onto each garlic side slice of bread then sprinkle a little bit of Mozzarella cheese on each slice. Your guest will love your bruschetta and maybe even ask you for the recipe! I hope that you enjoyed this recipe and loved the explosions of flavors in your mouth!
