A Winter Warmer Cocktail.

Updated on December 15, 2010

This is a simple recipe for a warm winter cocktail, perfect for the holidays, the Baileys in this recipe can be swapped for; Peppermint Baileys, Kahlua, or Peppermint Schnapps. Or if your under eighteen just omit any alcohol, throw in some mini marshmallows and have a Christmassy hot chocolate treat!

Ingredients:

Baileys Irish Cream.
Semi-skimmed Milk.
Drinking chocolate.
Squirty Cream.
Plain or dark Chocolate.
Peppermint Candy Canes.

Method: (for one cocktail)

Fill your favourite coffee mug 3/4 full with semi-skimmed milk, and heat in the microwave for approx 90 seconds. (Until steaming but without a skin on top).
Add three tablespoons of drinking chocolate and stir until combined, as if your making a normal hot chocolate.
Next add a shot (2-3 fl oz) of Baileys, or whichever alcohol you've chosen, and stir.

Top with cream, and grate plain chocolate shavings over the top.

Next hang your candy cane over the side of your mug, if your drink is warm enough it should melt the candy cane enough to give the drink a nice minty flavour.
Serve with a nice mince pie or slice of Christmas cake and..... Enjoy! x
