Arabic Biriyani

Biriyani is a complete food, it contains all the spices and the nutrition in it.

Yields: Serves 5 People


  • 1 Chicken
  • 3 Cups Basmati Rice
  • 5 Cups Water
  • 4 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 3/4 Cups Tomato Paste
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 2 Cloves
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 2 Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Pepper Powder
  • Little Salt
  • 1 Cup Boiled Vegetables
  1. Heat olive oil in a non stick pan. Add onion and saute till light brown. Then add 1 Cup water and Tomato paste.
  2. Stir well and allow to hot. Then add the chicken pieces and salt few minutes. Then add the rice and boiled vegetables and stir well.
  3. Add pepper powder and salt. Then add the cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom.
  4. Stir well and cover it.
  5. When the water becomes dry and the rice is rest fully cooked, off the fire and rest for few minutes.
  6. After 10 minutes uncover and stir.
  7. Serve hot.

      I ate the local nasi bryani which was different from white rice but the cost of one plate was exorbitant , $ 8. !!! It seems that the rice itself is expensive, true indeed! Now I can buy one small packet of bryani rice and cook it myself, thanks to your recipe
