Baked Tator Tots Hotdish with Garden Green Beans
The green beans are from the garden, but I froze them. So, as they come to closer to room temperature, I need to remove the stem ends.
I fry the burger with the onions, celery and peppers.
The jar of Alfredo sauce, some milk, cream of chicken soup gets mixed together.
Then, the beans get mixed in. The burger gets mixed in. Everything gets dumped into the 13 x 9 pan. A layer of shredded cheese, then the frozen tator tots are placed in an orderly fashion across the surface.
Into the oven. Uncovered. 375 degrees for an hour.
- tator tots
- ground beef
- mrs. dash
- shredded cheese
- green beans
- Alfredo sauce
- minced garlic
Since this dish merges together, you will notice it bubbling and boiling. It will start boiling once it's hot enough. Pretty much gets boiled until the tator tots turn browned and crispy on the top. The bottom of the tots will bond with the soup mixture below.
Into the Oven
As I check it after fifty minutes, I find that the milk base is just starting to boil. It needs additional time to boil across. The middle will ooze up through the tator tots. Then, it's either done, or it can go under broiler for a few minutes to crisp the top of the tator tots. I like my tots a little brown.
Broiling doesn't take long.
