Baked Sweet Potato Recipe-Magic With Brown Sugar and Cinnamon

Updated on March 29, 2016

Simply Sinful Baked Sweet Potatoes

8 Yams- Try to get them in a uniform size

3/4 Cup Brown Sugar

1 Cup Whipped Butter or Margarine

3 Teaspoons Cinnamon

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Bake yams 45-80 mins, depending on size. Larger potatoes take longer cooking time. When the potatoes are done, they should be dark on the outside, and soft on the inside. When the potato is sliced open, the inner skin should be charred black.

Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together in bowl and set aside.

When it is time to serve, slice a potato down the center. Put a couple spoons of butter in the split, then sprinkle the brown sugar-cinnamon combination on the butter.Yum.

Variations- I like to add chopped pecans to the brown sugar mixture. My wife is not so keen on that.

Some people don't like it so sweet, so instead of brown sugar, just salt the potato and dust lightly with cinnamon.

Oh, I'd like my pie sweet so I'll use the sugar, confectionary, though to get a doughnut appearance.
