Banana Chocolate Chip Bread
This Chocolate Banana Bread Tastes Like Heaven!
This is another one of my mother's recipes. I do not like bananas. I do not like the taste of bananas. This is one way my mother would get me to eat bananas....make banana bread. Now that I'm a mom too, I have tweaked this recipe to add another one of my favorite food groups.....CHOCOLATE! Yum yum!
- 1/4 C Shortening
- 3/4 C Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 C Baking Mix, Jiffy Mix, Bisquick or Store Brand
- 1 C Mashed Banana (Use the extra ripe, brown/black ones!), I typically use more...about 3-4 Bananas
- 1/3 C Chocolate Chips
- Optional: 1/3 C Raisins
- Optional: 1/3 C Nuts
- Mash ripe bananas.
- Cream shortening and sugar into the banana. Add eggs and baking mix and beat until combined well. Add chocolate chips and/or any optional ingredients you would like.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees (325 degrees for a glass pan) for 55 minutes. Cool, cut and enjoy.
