Beef and Chorizo Chili

Updated on February 2, 2012

Crock-Pot Cooking

With the winter time still here and the cold knocking at the door there is nothing better than a pot of hot Chili to warm up your insides. To me cooking in the crock-pot is such a great and easy way to prepare food, all you need is all your ingredients to add to your crock-pot then set it then forget it, it's that super simple no hard work no fuss, but a great tasting dish when its all done, So come and follow this recipe for a great pot of chili with a twist.

Beef and Chorizo Chili

Beef and Chorizo Chili

1 pound lean ground beef

10 ounces raw chorizo sausage, removed from casings

1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans in it's own sauce

2 cans (14 1/2 ounces each) Italian diced tomatoes, undrained

1/2 teaspoon of chili powder

salt and pepper to taste

Place beef and chorizo in crock-pot slow cooker. Stir to break up well

Stir in beans and tomatoes. chili powder, Cover, cook on low 7 hours. Skim off an discard excess fat before serving, taste then add salt and pepper if needed.

This chili recipe is really different from your everyday chili the chorizo adds a twist of spice but the chili powder knocks it up a notch so watch out it can put you on fire but if you want it milder just leave out the chili powder the chorizo has some hotness to give the chili its spiciness....enjoy.
