Beer Braised Short Ribs

Updated on November 20, 2011

Braising with beer

There is nothing better than beer cool and refreshing and every one just loves it one way or another, for me I don't drink but I really love to cook with it.

Cooking with beer for me is my replacement for drinking it, I get the same satisfaction for it as I would if I was ordering it at a bar or at the supermarket That's why I wanted to share with you this great tasting recipe for braising Beef Short Ribs.

By just using a few store brought items you can make you and your family one of the greatest tasting dishes you have had in a long while.

Braised Short Ribs

Beer-Braised Short Ribs

BEER-BRAISED SHORT RIBS

1 tbsp olive oil

3 lbs beef short ribs

1 (12oz) bottle dark beer (such as stout)

1 (10-5-oz) can french onion soup

3 tbsp brown sugar

4 tsp chopped fresh garlic

1 cup smoked barbecue sauce

In a large dutch oven heat oil over medium heat. Add ribs (in batches, if needed); cook 15 minutes, turning occasionally to brown all sides. Stir in beer, soup, brown sugar and garlic. Cover, simmer 2 hours.

Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium (300F to 350F). Remove ribs from pot; place ribs on grill. Grill 10 minutes or until last 5 minutes, of grilling, baste ribs with barbecue sauce. Remove from grill, and serve.

You just have to try this recipe I know you are really going to love this beer braising treat.... Enjoy!

That sounds delicious. I get all my meat at the local butcher shop down the street, it also happens to be the best place to get a good beer. I'll be trying this recipe for sure.
