Excellent photographs Ralph. I really felt like I was right there myself. Thank you for sharing this slice of America.

Thanks, Sabu, for your kind comment. I just noticed that I got the year wrong. The pictures were taken today, in 2010, not 2007.

Hi Ralph - I enjoy these photo sets of yours. Quite a change from the hot grey desert lands here :)

Oh man, hey Mr. Ralph. Those are some great photos at a great event. I live the pictures with the dogs. The husky was a great one. These events I think are what make America the great land that she is. A great hub with wonderful pictures.

I agree. My wife and I go every Sunday to pick up a bunch of organic vegetables that she signed up for for the season. And I tag along with my camera to take a few pictures. They have a different musician every week--blues, jazz, rock, whatever. But no Zydeco! Thanks for your comment.

      Great shots!

What are you shooting with and which lens? In situations like that I like a zoom lens - great for candid shots.

      Thanks for your comments.

FCEtier, I was using a Canon Zoom 28-135 lens which I recently bought on Ebay for $210. Sometimes I use a Canon 75-300.

I agree that a telephoto lens is the best. You can take candid shots without sticking the camera in people's faces. I worry a bit about the possibility of people objecting to having their picture on the Internet. So far no objections. Of course I would immediately remove any photo on request. Also, I do my best to make my subjects look good, and I don't use any pictures that might make them look unattractive or silly. Any thoughts on possible issues involved in publishing pictures of ordinary, non-celebrity people taken in public places?

The pictures are awesome. The doggies are so adorable. I have not seen beautiful vegetables such as these in a long time. They make the veggies sold in stores look sad. Oh how I wish I was there. Am I to understand that this event goes on weekly? How fortunate you are to be near such a piece of heaven. Thank you for the pictorial tour of what America was when I was a child. I miss it terribly.

What a great set of photos! You have an art to catching just the right moment. Love the small brown dog, reminds me of one I used to own.
