Sofrito

I found this Sofrito recipe on YouTube by Ida Sweets and Beyond. This women is amazing and her cooking style reminds me of my grandmother and mother. I needed to know the how to make sofrito and my mom was nowhere to be found so I decided to google the recipe and came across hers. She has been very inspiring and I hope to meet this lady one day so I can taste her cooking in person lol. Follow Ida on YouTube and Facebook Sweets and Beyond. Hope you enjoy your day and this recipe.

  1. Chop bell peppers and onions into large chunks since they are going into a food processor. Take the seeds out the sweet peppers (aji dulce), When all your vegetables are chopped you may add them to the food processor along with the garlic cloves, cilantro, and culantro.
  2. Add olive oil a little at a time once all the ingredients are in the food processor.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 Bell Peppers
  • 3-4 Onions
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Bunches Cilantro
  • 3 Bunches Culantro or Recao
  • 15-20 aji dulce or Sweet Peppers
  • 1/3 Cup Olive Oil
