Boullion Water When I am Sick and Need Chicken Soup
Chicken soup is high on the list of home remedies for a cold or stuffed up nose. Chicken boullion suffices for a quick medication.
It's warm, it's salty. It steams your mucous filled passages. Be ready with a hanky and blow those bad germs from your nose.
I am Not Offering Medical Advice
Shall we discuss mucous color while we are at it? I'd rather not, but, when I have a cold, I usually self check to see if I am running a fever. I think a fever means that your body is fighting an infection by killing it with heat. You may need a doctors intervention as well.
So, if you don't have a fever, you probably have a virus, which, unfortunately, needs to run its course. So, meanwhile, you'll need to help it along and use whatever means to control the flow of mucous.
As to mucous color, I believe that clear is the target color. Lots of clear, as in drippy nose, means you have something stuck somewhere that your mucous is trying to dislodge and remove.
Yellow means that your mucous is fighting and dying. It means it is working. Just blow and remove. Sometimes its very thick and chunky.
Green means allergies, or if it persists, sinus infection.
Blood in your mucous means that you have a mean bug. Go to your doctor to determine what you actually need.
