This is a festival for the bramhin girls for 9 years before and after their marriage to be performed on this very day firstly for the blessings from Lord Shiva to go to a family with a good handsome rich boy as their husband and after marriage for long healthy,prosperous,loving,trustworthy husband all their life.

The food for the festival for the family consists of the following items:-

1 - Sweet Karagadabu - Made out of 1 1/2 or 2 cups of Chiroti Rawa mixed with 2 table spoons of Maida flour by adding 2 table spoon pur ghee or dalda mixing all the dough with 1 1/2 cup water thoroughly keeping it aside and taking 2 cup sugar, 4 nos of llachi mixing it with dry coconut gratings grind it nicely,now mix all the items and make small dough with rolling pan roll the former dough about 6 inch dia keep required sugar mixed with illachi and coconut gratings,seal it and fry it in refined oil till it is brown in color and you have made the days special sweet Karagadabu one piece.repeat it till all the dough is completed.

The other items of the days food are as under:-

02 - 2 Varieties of Kosambari.

03 - 2 Varieties of Vegetable Palya

04 - Cucumber Majjige Huli.

05 - Mysore Saru.

06 - Hot Hot Rice.

07 - Papad.

08 - Sandige.

09 - Curds.

A small game is played by girls before taking food with maida dough made in a ball form and inside will be a money coin ( the denomination is kept secret ) which is kept on the main door HOSALU and the girls brother is told to pound it with their hand and open it and take the coin as a BHANDARA GIFT.

After this all the family members take their food.[ Kadabu Habba]
