Do You Know How Important Breakfast Is?

Let me ask you a very important question is a good breakfast on your daily agenda. Because most families mornings are really hectic a lot of families prepare and eat a skimpy breakfast or skip the meal entirely. But what a lot of people miss is that you and your children's bodies have already been with out food for eight hours or longer already.

With out a good well rounded breakfast your body has no energy reserves. You would be much better off to get up a little earlier to insure that you and your family have a full and complete breakfast. Did you know that for the last thirty years studies have shown that children that get a full and well rounded breakfast score much higher on tests and they are less depressed. Children look forward to things and if children know they are going to get up to a well rounded complete breakfast they will look forward to it and won't be as hard to get up as they have been in the past.

Children who eat a good breakfast have more strength and endurance and they don't suffer from being hungry mid morning like children do that don't get to eat breakfast. And adults who eat breakfast will find that they can stick to a diet better if they do eat breakfast. Its hard to diet if your starving. So yes eating a good breakfast can help you from over eating later in the day.

It has been shown by research that people who eat a protein rich breakfast of eggs , bacon and fruit will eat less the rest of the day than they normally would. You should keep in mind that for adults or children a good breakfast should include grains , fruits , proteins , milk , and juice. Eggs are a great source of protein and can be prepared quickly and easily.

You have to keep in mind that breakfast jump starts the bodies metabolism and provides you with much needed energy for the rest of the day. A good breakfast casserole can be a complete meal and you can make a breakfast casserole freeze it for one of those busy mornings. And we even have for you a delicious Crock Pot Breakfast Casserole that everyone is sure to enjoy.

For your crock pot breakfast casserole you will need a crock pot which is one item no kitchen should be with out. I believe every home should in fact have a couple of different size crock pots. One should be a small one and one should be large enough to cook a whole chicken or a whole roast.

Crock Pot Breakfast Casserole

You will want to start off by cooking a pound of bulk breakfast sausage until it is brown and you want it completely done so that you can crumble it.

You will want for your breakfast crock pot casserole.

1. The Pound Of Bulk Breakfast Sausage cooked and crumbled.

2. One 32 Ounce Bag Hash Brown Potatoes.

3. One Dozen Large Eggs. ( Beat your eggs and whole milkĀ  together well and add salt and pepper to taste )

4. One Large Sweet Onion.

5. Three Different Color Bell Peppers cleaned and diced.

6. One Cup Whole Milk.

7. Two Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese.

You will need a large 4-6 quart crock pot to cook this delicious breakfast casserole in. And you will want to spray the inside of your crock pot with vegetable cooking spray. Spray it on heavily to make clean up easier later.

Now you want to start out in the bottom of the crock pot with a generous layer of hash browns , then a layer of onion and peppers , then a layer of sausage , a layer of cheese , and a layer of well beaten eggs. Repeat your layers over and over until you have your crock pot full. Save enough cheese to finish with a layer of cheese.

If you need a lot of breakfast casserole for a big group use a large crock pot. Set your crock pot on low and cook for 8 - 9 hours. I don't add salt or pepper except in the eggs. I let people add more salt and pepper at the table.

I have never found anyone that didn't love this delicious crock pot breakfast casserole. You can if you like experiment and add other ingredients. I guarantee you this casserole is high protein and it will give you plenty of energy for a full day of activities.
