Breakfast Classics at Shay's

Shay’s Restaurant and Lounge is the perfect place to get the kind meal that will remind you of the way breakfast used to be.

If you remember a time before every commercial and media outlet was telling you that a yogurt with granola or an egg white frittata is all that should be consumed in the before noon, this is the place for you.

Shay’s unusually large menu is packed with 46 items for breakfast alone. They serve lunch and dinner as well but it will be a challenge for anyone to get past their World Famous Omelets. Those exact words are posted on the outside of the building and they live up to that title, and then some.

World Famous Omelets

Shay’s omelets are unbelievably delicious and there is a large selection to satisfy every taste.

The mash potato omelet is the most wonderfully curious creation on the extensive omelet menu. The bacon and green onions that are intertwined in the egg are delectable all by themselves but then they add sour cream mashed potatoes and cheese in the fold. The combination is absolutely scrumptious.

There are 17 different omelet options on the menu at all times and even though there is never more than 2 cooks in the kitchen at once, whatever you order always comes out amazing.

More Breakfast Options

The comfort food breakfasts at Shay’s certainly aren’t restricted to omelets.

They also offer a variety of scramble dishes, corned beef hash, breakfast burrito, crab cake benedict, waffles, French toast, Swedish Pancakes, a croissant breakfast sandwich and the timeless breakfast Monte Cristo.

The list goes on and on but, the taste and experience can only truly be appreciated in person.

Lunch and Dinner

Shay’s is primarily known for their incredible breakfasts but they certainly don’t stop there. The lunch and dinner menu is filled to the brim with old fashioned diner favorites.

The lunch menu at Shay’s offers a variety of salads, dips, burgers, chili, hot and cold sandwiches and hand made milkshakes.

The breakfast choices and most of the lunch choices are offered any time but after 4pm, they also offer steak, seafood and pasta dishes. All served with potato or rice, soup or salad, vegetable and a roll.

They certainly don’t skip on portions at Shay’s.

Feel Right at Home

Don’t let the rugged exterior fool you. Inside you will find a welcoming and comforting downhome environment that will make you feel as though you stepped out of the city and into a small town diner.

The décor has a quaint country feel, there is a lunch style counter with stools and an open window view into the kitchen where the customers can see the cooks preparing their meal. Anyone and everyone will fit right in and feel comfortable.

The service staff is warm and welcoming. It is clear that the Shay’s family has been working together for many years.

Reviewing restaurants is an important part of tasting "real life" from locations throughout the world. Not only does a home town perspective bring quality to light, it also provides a benchmark for the business being reviewed to maintain and grow. This is a great example of the many taste of hometown USA.
