Broccoli Salad

Big Pine Lodge Broccoli Salad

1 bunch of broccoli carefully cut into bite size pieces

1 cup of raisins

1 pound of bacon, fried crispy and cut into pieces (easier to cut cold bacon slab with scissors and fry pieces rather than strips)

1 cup of chopped walnuts

Combine above in large bowl and leave in refrigerator until ready to serve, then add the dressing just before serving. (It’s all right to add the dressing and then refrigerate, too.)

Dressing: Stir ¼ cup of white sugar and 1 tablespoon of vinegar into 1 cup of Miracle Whip (or real mayonnaise)

This recipe is my standard dish for our church potlucks. In fact, if I don’t sign up to bring it, somebody else will sign me up anyway.

Variations: Add in cauliflower, carrots and sesame seeds and increase the dressing.
