Burgers gone wild

Updated on October 27, 2015

This is a story about burgers gone wild, and like any good story this one has it's humble beginnings as well. A long time ago, 1946 to be exact, a man and his brother Ben opened a little diner called the Dwarf Grill. The place was small, so the name fit. But this man and his brother Ben were exceptional businessmen who served great food. So the business grew and grew and grew.

Then somewhere about 15 years later, just as the burger fever began to grip the nation, this man had a very unique and crazy idea. Instead of a quarter pound of beef on a bun, why not a substitute. and thus, in 1964, he introduced the original sandwich.

Then in 1967 the first restaurant opened in the Greenbriar mall. And shortly there after his sandwich really took off. Today millions of folks all over the country enjoy this original sandwich, which still cooked the special way.

It's his hope that every meal, like this short story has a very happy ending, and you'll be able to identify this mystery restaurant. And if for some reason after you finish reading this you are still unable to identify this restaurant, you will find a clue to it's name under the below burger. I wish you Good Luck !

Thanks for the white space! My husband and I finally tried Chil-Fil-a on Saturday and became instant fans. The quality of the meat is so much better than the chicken burgers in other fast food places....very yummy. We'll be back often!

Bloggering, I hope that you get a chance real soon to try out a Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwich. They are delicious, and are really a one of a kind meal. I also aim to please, and I added a little white space for you between the paragraphs for easier reading. This was one of my first hubs, and I didn't know how to go about doing that back then. Thank you for stopping by.

Thanks for the comment fiftyish, and the correct answer is (Drum roll please) - At a place that didn't invent the chicken, but invented the chicken sandwich. At a place where they would like for everyone to "Eat Mor Chikin" At a place called "Chick-Fil-A".

I don’t think I've ever got so hungy looking at a picuture or a ??? burger. I don't eat many burgers, partly for health reasons, but mainly because I find them incredibley expensive for a snack. Okay, so you're full have eating a quarter pounder with large fries etc, but unlike a more wholesome meal, it's not long after before the ole stomach starts to rumble again.

Btw, what is the alternative to beef here? I've read the comments, so have I missed the answer or does it remain a puzzle? LOL :)

I just guessed the restaurant--which isn't in Chicago yet (as mr. daydream points out). Never been--although I see billboards for it on my way to the in-laws in Indy.

Yummy hub! :) Now that is a pretty tricky word....I can't figure it out now but i'll comment as soon as I figure it out, lol! ;)

Actually to me beef sulks, lol :) I m totally NOT a fan of beef...chicken is WAY better! Guess im promoting the Chick-Fil-A motto, "Eat More Chickin'" lol saving the beef.....All I need from a cow is the milk....but it can keep the beef ( hee hee hee ) lol. :) Oh, and don't think im like the type of person that says "Oh my gosh, we have to save animals! We have to save the world!" And then blah blah blah! Guess what? The next day they go to a steakhouse and eat all the meat - deer, pork, chicken, beef, etc. Such liers!! Of course, I want to save animals, ( that's why I have 5 dogs from shelters ) I want to save rain forests, I want to save the world, people!!!! But, after I just said that the next day I don't go to a steakhouse and I don't go waste a bunch of white paper, etc. I'm an animal lover, I love animals. I want to save the rain forests, I don't want all those beautiful animals of the rain forests to die because some stupid people come and cut down all the rain forests.... I DON'T!!! So I help, I help save the rain forest and I help animals survive even when people cut down their habitat...I WANT TO HELP, I DO HELP!!! I HELP IN ANY WAY I CAN!!!!! Sorry if I got a little too "defensive" I sometimes do.....sorry! but I hope this helps!! :)

Oh and TheHoleStory, very tasty hub...the pictures make me soooooooo hungry!!! :) bye!

This franchise not only produces a very special and great-tasting "burger" but the owners have some very special rules for franchisees.

Each restaurant must be run by the manager who purchased the franchise and they are not open on Sunday. Also, I am told that where BK and MacDonald's collect 4 to 6% of the proceeds, ChickFila collects 60%.
