Cheap and Easy Recipes to Make With Few Ingredients
Making many recipes from a few ingredients
Cooking at home is becoming a lot harder and for a variety of reasons: too tired from work, lack the skill of cooking, not sure what to cook or it just takes too long and you're hungry now. Whatever might be the reason but it is causing you to wear a hole out in your pocket and waste a ton of food.
What I like to do to help me tackle both of those problems is to make a list of easy recipes and their ingredients- I like to look at what the common ingredients there are and see if there are any other recipes I can make using those.
So, today I am going to give you a list of ingredients and some recipes you can make using those ingredients, this is going to help you waste a lot less as you'll be able to use those ingredients in a lot more recipes and because the recipes are going to be easy you won't be tempted to order food.
Common ingredients to make a lot of recipes using
Jacket Potato and Beans
This is a classic British lunch recipe, and one of the easiest to make. Not only is it a really filling lunch/ dinner option but it doesn't take a lot of time or skill. Here is video showing you exactly how to make this easy and filling recipe. You only need two essential ingredients: potato and beans. You can add on top some cheese, cut up some salads or anything else you want on the side but to make the dish you need a minimum of two ingredients- and those ingredients are so versatile that a lot different recipes can be made.
Tomato and Pasta (with cheese)
Another two ingredient recipe, this is again a pretty basic and filling recipe because it has the carbs and you can make a large portion to fill you. You just need a can of tomatoes and pasta, you can add other ingredients such as cheese on top, mixed vegetables, chunks of chicken or whatever you want in it. Just like the previous recipe here's a great recipe idea for a tomato and pasta dinner but it contains a few extra ingredients which you don't need if you prefer to make it without.
Egg Fried Rice
This one is delicious and looks even more appetising than the previous ones, this should be used to reuse your old rice that you've probably already cooked but don't want to eat anymore- you can enhance the flavour and give it a twist by using it to make egg fried rice. This recipe gives you a few more ingredients that you can add but you can stick to rice and eggs and add condiments such as salt and pepper on top to give it a little bit more taste.
Cheese and Tomato Pasta Bake
This is pretty much similar to the tomato and pasta recipe above but with this one you put the cheese on top and bake it, this recipe gives you an outline on how to do it, again they add a few more ingredients which you can skip out on should you wish, you could sweetcorn or chicken in this to tailor it a little more to your taste but because it is so simple you can play around with optional ingredients you choose to add.
Beans, Eggs and Pasta
Just like with fried rice, you can use pasta instead of rice to make the fried pasta.
Combine this with a baked bean sauce that you can make by mixing baked beans and tomato sauce to make a pasta sauce that you can serve with the fried pasta.
Add or remove some ingredients if you would like for example you can add cheese instead or baked beans or eggs or you can add other ingredients if baked beans and pasta is not something you're too keen on.
