She loves Food,She Loves to eat and Loves to share her recipes also...Mostly Indian recipes...Welcome to Mousumi's Kitchen....

Chicken Curry is one of the most easy and healthy chicken recipe according to me. I learn this from my mother. As I told earlier in my another hub Recipe-Fried-Schezwan-Chicken, that I love chicken. We used to cook this once in a week still now. It is a delicious and healthy curry. It is very good dish for kid too.

In India it is originated from South, where it was made from Spice Blend.

Now what are the specialties of this recipe? The first specialty it's smelled of Graram Masala, Secondly the sweet potatoes and last one is the pressure cooker.Garama Masala is the special type of spice made in India ( I describe this in the Marinade section) and I feel, this is the main attraction for me for this dish.

The dish is cooked in pressure cooker (pot that uses steam under pressure at high temperature to cook food quickly). If you don't have it, you have to boil the chicken for more times. But you get best results using pressure cooker. Because pressure cooker locks the nutritious value and the smell under itself.

I have to laugh , in your profile you say your not a good cook but all your recipes look delicious . I have eaten at traditional Indian restaurants and love the flavor and all the spices but have never cooked Indian food before. I would like to make the chicken curry with sweet potatoes , I have fresh ginger root that I grate and steep in a teaball for ginger tea , the roots are different sizes . I would like to know what the measurement would be for the amount of ginger in this recipe , please . I am not sure what the equivelant of , one root is. Thank you for the recipe .

MK, I love Indian food. I have only tried to cook it a few times and have always failed miserably, but your recipe and the detailed information makes me want to try again. This is on my list of dishes to make next week. I look forward to it.

I enjoyed the detail you added to the recipe, about healthy, the origin / meaning of Giram Mirsala, and what makes the recipe special. It added a nice touch.
