Chicken Pot Pie With Vegetables Recipe

I myself like my recipe for chicken pot pie below this one but I have been told by thousands of people that this recipe for chicken pot pie is the best chicken pot pie that they have ever tasted in their life. Try it and tell me what you think. I have won several blue ribbons and several gold medals for this chicken pot pie. Yes it really is that good.

You will need for your chicken pot pie.

1. 2 Cups Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Cut Into Small Cubes.

2. 2 Cups Chicken Broth.

3. 1 Package Chicken Gravy.

4. 3 Carrots Peeled And Sliced Thin.

5. 4 Large Potatoes Peeled And Cut Into Small Cubes.

6. 1 Large Purple Sweet Onion Diced Fine.

7. 2 Tablespoons Real Butter.

8. 1 Teaspoon Salt.

9. 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.

10. 1/4 Cup of English Peas.

Buy one pie crust already in the tin foil pan and buy one pie crust in a package to make your pie top with.

Combine all your ingredients in a large bowl and mix very well. You want one of the dry packages of chicken gravy mix that you just add water to. Mix the gravy pack with some chicken broth and whisk well to mix. That gravy pack is important as it gives great flavor to your chicken pot pie. When you have all your ingredients in the bowl and mixed well add your ingredients to the pie crust in the pie pan. Then open up and roll out your packaged pie crust. Place it over the top of your pie and trim away the extra dough. Leave enough dough to be able to take a fork and crimp the edges with your fork tines. Trim away the excess.

Melt a tablespoon of real butter in the microwave and brush the top of your pie crust well before you bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven when golden brown and brush well with the melted butter with the pastry brush.

My Favorite Chicken Pie Recipe

You will want to start with a whole fryer for this chicken pie recipe. Put your fryer on cut up in a large pot with enough chicken broth to cover the chicken. Into your pot with the chicken put the below.

1. 1 Teaspoon Salt.

2. 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.

3. 1 Teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper.

4. 1 Teaspoon Ground Sage.

5. 1 Large Purple Sweet Onion Diced Fine.

6. 2 Heaping Tablespoons Real Butter.

Bring your pot with the chicken in it to a boil and reduce the heat to medium. Cook until the chicken is coming off the bone easily.

Now you will want to strain your chicken broth off through a fine wire mesh strainer. Remove all skin and bones and dice up your chicken into very small pieces.Save your chicken broth. Any left over broth can be frozen and saved for later.

You will want to combine the below.

2 Tablespoons Plain All Purpose Flour.

1 Teaspoon Salt.

1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.

Place the above into a pan with two tablespoons olive oil and stir with a wire whisk until the flour just starts to brown. Now add 1 cup of whole milk while whisking your sauce well. Now add chicken stock you saved above to keep your sauce from getting to thick. Don't thin it down to thin as you want a slightly thick sauce.

Now you will need a pie crust in a tin foil pan and a packaged pie crust for the top. Fill your pie crust 2/3 full of the chopped up chicken and then finish filling the pan with the sauce you made. Now you want to roll out your packaged crust and cover the top of your pie with it. Cut away the excess and take a fork and crimp the edges. Trim away any excess if needed. Cut slits in the top of your crust to let out the steam.Brush your pie with melted margarine before baking.

Bake in a 350 degree oven until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with melted margarine.

To me this is the best chicken pie ever. I like it with out the vegetables so this my favorite chicken pie.

I like the herb and spice mix in the second chicken pie recipe. I must say that for me a chicken pie is not complete without mushrooms so I added them in. I also used a bit of garlic powder. Very nice, thanks.
