This Chilled Rum and Cantaloupe Soup is to die for!

Fresh and oh so wonderful

If you are looking for a fresh and incredibly tasty chilled soup, you simply must try this chilled rum and cantaloupe soup. Fresh and rich, this soup will immediately become a favorite of you and your guests.


  • 2 Cantaloupes, Peeled and Diced
  • 1/4 Cup Butter, (Half a stick to sauté)
  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut Milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 Cup Orange Juice, Fresh is better
  • 1/4 Cup Mango Chutney
  • 1/4 Cup Rum
  • 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream


  1. To start, you will sauté the cantaloupe until it becomes slightly soft.
  2. Next, add the mango chutney, orange juice and coconut milk stirring as you pour.
  3. Simmer the mix until the cantaloupe become very soft, but not transparent.
  4. Take the mix and blend in a food processor or a regular blender.
  5. Empty mix into a large bowl and add the cream and the rum stirring as you pour.
  6. Finally, chill the soup and serve it cold.

      Thanks everyone for the comments. This does work in just about any weather, but as it gets colder, you would probably want to take down the chill a bit.

      I've never heard of rum soup, before. This sounds like a great summer dish for really muggy summer days, when you want a complete meal, but you don't want to cook much. A bowl of soup with crackers, and you're set for most of the day.

      This sounds like a light rum soup. It reads so good, I would think of it as a cold weather soup as well with seasonal ingredients and dark rum. David Russell
