Competitive, professional or backyard barbecue chefs alike are well aware, no bbq grill tool set is complete without a high quality grill brush. The important thing to remember when selecting the proper grill brush for your bbq master is quite simply, what kind of grill grate their gas, charcoal grill or smoker uses.

You see, a porcelain coated grill grate is quite fragile, easily scratched, chipped and broken when cleaned improperly. For this reason, alone it is best not to use a steel bristle grill brush and metal scraper to clean a porcelain coated grill. Rather you should gently use a soft brass bristle grill brush to loosen burnt on foods and sauces.

Just an FYI, when damaged porcelain coated grill grate needs replacing. The best option is replace it with a high quality stainless steel or cast iron grill grate and rid yourself of the problem.

When it comes time to clean burnt stuck on foods and BBQ sauce from the cast iron or stainless steel grill grate on your gas, or charcoal grill and smoker, the best bbq-cleaning tool you can use is a long handle grill brush with steel or brass bristles and scraper. Weber makes a great 18-inch grill brush with steel scraper that works great for getting your barbecue and smoker grill grates clean.
