Classic Crock-pot Beef Stew
easy and good
prep time: 15 min. cook time:5 1/2 hrs.
1/4 cup flour
2 lbs. lean beef stew meat
1 large onion,sliced
1 lb.mini carrots
2 stalks celery,cut into 1 in. pieces
1 1/2 ibs. potatoes, peeled (if desired) cut into large chunks
1 (15 oz.) low sodium beef broth
1 tbsp. Worchestershire sauce
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1. Mix flour, salt, pepper to taste in slow coker. Add beef; stir to coat. Add onions, carrots, celery, potatoes,beef broth & sauce. Stir to blend..( I also added garlic, and bell peppers)
2. Cover, cook on low 5 1/2 to 7 hours. ( I cooked on high first 2 hrs. then slowed it down to slow for the remainder of the time)
3. Mix cornstarch w/ 2 tbsp. water. Stir into stew. cover; cook 30 min.more or until carrots are cooked and meat is tender.
