Cold Pasta Salad Recipes - Easy Pasta Salad Recipes

Updated on July 15, 2010

Looking for some super fast and incredibly easy pasta salads recipe ideas? Look no further! When most of us think of pasta salads, we think of a box that comes with the pasta, some dried seasoning and some oil. It’s just as easy to make your own flavorful cold pasta salads at home and just as quickly, too! I make about one pasta salad a week to use as a side dish for lunch or dinner and am always changing things up with these various combinations. I also love serving pasta salads when entertaining and they’re also a great dish to bring to a barbeque or other event where it is customary to bring food. So, read on and get inspired to make your own homemade pasta salad, instead of the icky stuff that comes from a box!

It’s really easy to make your own pasta salad. I’m not going to include measurements because everything is pretty self explanatory. You really can’t mess up your pasta salad using these ingredients. Use more or less of everything to your liking and you’ll have an awesome cold pasta salad.

Step 2: Choose A Salad Dressing:

  • Italian / Light Italian
  • Creamy Italian
  • Ranch / Light Ranch
  • Caesar
  • Green Goddess
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • Etc. (Use any of your favorite dressings)

Step 1: Pick 1 or 2 Types of Pasta

  • Orzo (Rice like pasta)
  • Macaroni
  • Shells
  • Bow-Ties
  • Any Whole Wheat Pasta (for a healthier dish!)
  • Spinach pasta
  • Tomato pasta
  • Etc.

Step 4: Choose a topping or two from the following:

Crushed croutons
Sunflower seeds
Bacon bits
Grated parmesan cheese
Crushed butter crackers (like Ritz)

Step 5: Mix Together!

Now mix all the ingredients together and you’ve got a great cold (or hot) pasta salad! If you’re at a loss for some good combination ideas, check out some of my favorites below.

Step 3: Add as much as you want of the following ingredients:

Diced ham
Diced turkey
Black olives
Artichoke hearts
Kalamata olives
Feta cheese
Shredded cheese
Diced zucchini
Diced asparagus
Diced pepper
Diced onion
Diced celery
Diced cucumber
Diced tomatoes
Baby corn
Etc. (Get creative!)

I will try the Super Easy Caesar Pasta Salad but I will prepare my own Caesar dressing because what I'm finding in my local supermarket has to much sugar on it.
