Cooking Surf And Turf

Updated on May 8, 2011

So Easy To Make

Yummy Surf And Turf

Surf And Turf

New Years Eve I decided to cook Surf and Turf , who wants to go out and eat when you can cook a meal like this for a fraction of the price.

We used Scotch Fillet but you can use Rump , Porterhouse or just your favorite cut of meat. Chicken breast is also an option if you are not to keen on red meat.

Serve with a nice fresh salad , you do not want to take away the taste of the Garlic Prawns.

Have all your salad ingredients cut up ready so all you have to do is add to the plates just before you are going to serve, use any dressing you like , I would recommend a mild dressing like a balsamic , do not add to much.

Personally I think Steak cooked on a barbeque grill is a lot nicer than a frypan, so if you have a barbie use it.

Garlic prawns are really simple to put together.

Buy some green prawn meat ( I always buy it frozen )

Allow 6 to 7 prawns per person, if they are a nice size, it is up to you how many you want to add.

Use a non stick pan with only a little oil and place your prawns in than add 2 teaspoons of crushed garlic ( you can use fresh but I find jar garlic tastes nice and is quicker)

Cook for about a minute than add either 350ml thickened low fat cream or use 350ml PHILADELPHIA For Cooking cream , low fat.

Add more if you want extra sauce.

Add fresh chopped chives or parsley ( Use dried if you do not have fresh) to your sauce and allow to simmer for a few more minutes, it is a quick dish to make.

Put together and enjoy.
