Crispy Cream Cheese Wontons

This is a very basic recipe, but you can add anything you want! I have added crab before which is always the most popular. Other ideas are: chopped green onion, cabbage, water chestnuts, etc.

Yields: I make a bunch and freeze them

Ingredients

  • cream cheese
  • wonton wrappers
  • oil for frying
  1. Cut block cream cheese into cubes. If you are using the kind that comes in a bowl, use a spoon. At this point, you can add whatever extra ingredients you want. Put cheese in center of wrappers, seal with egg wash or water, and fry til golden brown. Serve immediately with sweet & sour sauce.
  2. I like to make a bunch of them to freeze and have on hand when we have unexpected company. Everyone loves em!
