Food Safety or Food Control?

American's Right to Sustainable Food Production is in Jeopardy!

May 4, 2014

In another move to squash small farmers from continuing to produce meats and foods, Michigan's Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development has ruled that local governments can ban any residential farm from raising farm animals they choose within the state, according to Natural News.

This ruling removes the "Right to Farm Act" by the Michigan CARD, could ban all goats, chickens, and even honey bees from being raised on a family residential farm, if there is another residence within 250 feet, according to reports from Michigan Public Radio.

This ruling essentially criminalizes many backyard farms and small residential farms where new subdivisions have crept within the 250 feet proximity.

Organic farmer, Michelle Regalado Deatrick is concerned that her families' 80-acre retirement farm is now in jeopardy of closure because of the new ruling, according to Off the Grid News.

Kim White is a resident in the Detroit area that raises about 20 chickens for her own supply of eggs, as well as several rabbits. White says this about the new law, "It's 'Big Farm' deciding against the little farm," White said, according to Michigan Public Radio.

"They don't want us feeding ourselves. They want to do away with the small farms and I believe that is what's motivating it," White said, according to MPR.

Tulsa, Okla. Code Enforcement Officials Destroy Woman's Herb Garden

Denise Morrison was another victim of the Food Safety Act in 2012, by Tulsa code enforcement officials, even though her medicinal and culinary herb garden was in complete compliance with local laws, according to Natural News.

In what is becoming more a common place incident, Tulsa officials completely destroyed Morrison's herb garden on August 16, according to Natural News.

These actions, violated a court order that delayed any action by the city, until October. City officials effectively denied Morrison of her right to grow food on her own property, by completely destroying her herb garden, according to Natural News.

Morrison created her garden to provide food to eat and medicinal herbs to naturally treat her high blood pressure and other ailments, according to Tulsa's News on 6 reports.

Morrison had over 100 plant varieties; including stevia, mint, garlic, chives, strawberries, spearmint, various flowers, peppermint and apple mint.

She also had apple, walnut and pecan trees and many other items in her yard garden, before city officials destroyed it, even cutting down some of her trees.

Morrison filed a civil rights lawsuit against the city, accusing the inspectors of over-stepping their bounds, according to News on 6.

Food Safety Act Allows FDA to Target Food Markets

Controlling Food Supplies Could Be Feds Real Agenda!

FDA, the Los Angeles Health Dept., the Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept., and other agents have raided Rawesome Foods for the third time, for distributing raw milk, cheeses made from raw milk, grass-fed meats and other food products.

Agents descended on Rawesome Foods with guns drawn, trashing or confiscating milk, meats and cheeses amounting to $100,000 in damages to their food market business.

After a third raid on Rawesome Foods by these overly-aggressive agents trying to save the world from raw milk, they arrested the owner on misdemeanor charges of improperly labeled milk products.

So these (hero?) law enforcement agents, acting on the authority of the 2010 Food Safety Modernization Act, put a small business owner out of business, after continuing harassment and destruction of her property for over a year.

Shouldn't people be allowed to decide for themselves what kind of foods they want to consume, without being harassed by armed agents bent on destruction?

Many people at this point will ask themselves, just what does this have to do with me?

Most people are not farmers, a ranchers and probably don't even own land or grow food. But you still consume food acquired in your local grocery stores.

If we aren't willing to stand in support of all the independent ranchers and farmers that produce non-GMO food products, all we will have left in the supermarkets will be the corporate farm GMO-fed meats and GMO vegetables from global corporations only interested in profits and not the health and safety of the consumers.

That's why the consequences of the 2010 Food Safety Modernization Act, the federal agencies bullying ranchers and farmers out of business, and the SWAT-style raids against food producers and marketers of non-GMO foods is all tied together.

It demonstrates that greedy, global corporations and government agencies and the corrupt politicians are working to seize control over the world's food supplies by over-regulating food products, then conducting swat-style raids along with confiscation of food products to effectively put independents out-of-business.

Henry Kissinger served as a National Security Adviser and later Secretary of State during the Nixon Administration.

Kissinger was also a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, a think tank founded by international bankers that pushes heavily for a global government.

Just to reinforce this point stated by the globalist Kissinger; "Control the oil and you control a country, control the food and you control the people,"

All these government agencies pushing for complete control of food supplies will have dire consequences on both food prices and availability in America, and the whole world's not too distant future.

Americans were warned in advance, that this legislation was very dangerous for the American people, for American's food stability, and would effectively put small farmers, ranchers and organic food markets out of business.

We either didn't listen, or our Congress ignored the people who elected them, to do the bidding of the international corporations and global bankers which have already purchased most of our corrupt politicians.

Healthy Family Farms was also Targeted in another Raid in Santa Paula, California

James Stewart is the owner of Healthy Family Farms, and had several comments on these abusive, aggressive, swat-like raids;"Healthy Family Farms is a sustainable, pasture-based farming operation. We raise all our livestock on pasture. We raise all of our animals from birth," Stewart said, according to Infowars.

"We do not feed any of our animals soy, choosing instead to feed animals as they are designed to be fed. This results in healthy, sturdy animals needing no hormones, antibiotics, or other artificial "enhancements," Stewart said, according to Infowars.

"We harvest our animals humanely by hand before they are delivered to the farmers markets. We never freeze our products. In addition to farmer's markets sales, we have an active CSA, which offers discounts to our valued members," Stewart concluded, according to Infowars.

These swat-style raids on food farmers and food markets that haven't ever caused any illnesses or deaths must be stopped immediately.

Let's instead put the politicians and agents doing these illegal and immoral raids in jail, where they belong.

      Hey mgeorge1050,

Thanks for your comments on this article. I believe that you are right, Few people, outside of the circles of those who have been raided or oppressed by these unjust and morally repugnant laws, are even aware of what's been going on. That is why folks are starting to resist this government persecution of American citizens for growing, selling or simply choosing what kind of foods they want to produce or consume.

Americans that still believe in individual rights and freedom are starting to stand against these mafia-like thugs and tyrannical agencies on steroids!

What an interesting article. I will bet that many people, like myself, don't even know these things are happening. It doesn't sound like this is in the best interest of the public.
