Chili Cheese Fries

Easy to Make, Even Easier to Eat
To me, Chili Cheese Fries are very addicting. They are a meal in themselves so plan on being full when you finish them. [You will want a second helping] Smile.
My first introduction to Chili Cheese fries was earlier in the year. We were at some show and someone had a booth. Instead of a hot dog stand or hamburger stand, the offering was these fries.Well. I do like chili dogs at the fair and I thought I would give these potatoes a try. They were delicious. The fries are served fresh from the deep fryer so are very hot. The flavor is salty, cheesy and the chili flavor compares to a burrito.
So, I decided to buy the ingredients and make them at home, since I do own a deep fryer and I was able to locate the liquid cheese in a jar in the spicy food aisle. I went to the soup aisle and found the Hormel Chili with no beans was what I selected. Hormel Chili with beans would have worked as well.
- potato, lengthwise sliced, twice
- 1 can Chili with or without beans
- 1 jar Cheese Dip Cheese Sauce
I Selected Some Hand Sized Potatoes
I Did Not Peel Them Because I Like the Peel
Slice Them Lengthwise
Deep Fry your potato
- Slice and slightly salt your potatoes
- Deep fry for 15 minutes, then, drain for 5 minutes, then put in deep fryer again until golden brown. Drain.
- Put cooked potato on plate, cover with several spoonfuls of both chili and cheese sauce. Heat in microwave until cheese and chili have merged together.
I Used My Deep Fryer
Then Deep Fry for 10 - 15 Minutes
Add Cheese Sauce
Then Add Chili
Microwave Until Melted and Merged
Be Careful Eating These Fries, and Enjoy!
