Cast your vote for Cleveland Browns Game Day Chili

Cook onions and garlic in olive oil until both are soft and fragrant. Add beef and cook until it’s browned all over. Mix in spices – chili powder, cumin, hot paprika, allspice, cinnamon, turmeric, and cardamom. Cook for a few minutes. Stir in the tomato sauce, add the cocoa powder, molasses, beef broth, water, and vinegar. Bring all of this to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer. Cook for 2 ½ hours. Add salt and pepper to taste, and more molasses if desired. Drink the beer. The chili should be at the desired consistency around hour three. Add a few shakes of your favorite hot sauce to match the burn of your favorite team making stupid penalties. Wash down with shots of whisky, as needed.

You'll hate yourself later, but you'll love it right now!

Optional additions and toppings

My husband likes to add chili beans to this. I personally will sometimes add kidney beans to bulk this up, if I’m not serving snacks. I have friends who like to eat this over rice. Sometimes we top with it with crushed Doritos or Funyuns.
