If you are on a raw vegan diet or you simply want to lead a healthier lifestyle this is a great snack for you to try out. It is easy to make and the ingredients are pretty easy to get hold of as well. You will be surprised at how delicious these BBQ chips taste especially because of the fact that they are healthy for you as well. They really do taste a lot like BBQ chips, and they will satisfy your craving for store bought chips. Give them a try.
Here is what you need:
Ingredients
½ cup sun-dried tomatoes
4 cups zucchini, thinly sliced using a mandolin
1 clove garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
½ tablespoon chilli powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Method
-
Soak the sun-dried tomatoes in water for 2 hours
-
Put all the ingredients except for the zucchini into a blender. Blend until smooth
-
Get a casserole dish or large pyrex dish and put all the zucchini into it.
-
Pour the just blended marinate on to the zucchini and let sit for about half an hour. If you have the time, leave it to marinate for about 2 hours.
-
Now you can dehydrate the zucchini by putting it into a dehydrator on 110 degrees Faherenheit for four hours, or until crunchy. If you do not have a dehydrator you can put it in the oven on the same temperature with the door open. If you put it in the oven keep checking to make sure that it does not burn.
Tip: You can use this same recipe to make eggplant chips and potato chips. You can also use parsnip and other bland tasting vegetables.
