Homemade Tomato Soup Recipe

As a child I remember eating this delicious tomato soup when we came home for lunch while living in Chicago Heights Illinois. And I just simply loved it with peanut butter sandwiches. Oh yes there's nothing like dipping a peanut butter sandwich in this delicious homemade tomato soup. Try it some chilly day and post a comment to let me know how you liked it.

For Your Homemade Tomato Soup You Will Need

1 Large Onion Diced fine.

1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic.

1-2 Pieces of Celery Diced fine.

1-2 Carrots Peeled and Diced fine.

1-2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

You want to saute your Garlic, Onion, Celery and Carrots in a skillet until done. Pour in a large non stick stock pot. To your stock pot you will want to add.

1 28 Ounce Can Tomatoes mashed up very fine.

1 Tablespoon Salt

1 Tablespoon Basil

1 Tablespoon Oregano

3 Cups of Whole Milk at room temperature

1 Heaping Spoon of Margarine.

Add in all your ingredients and slowly bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to a simmer. At this time you will want to add in a 6 ounce can of tomato paste. If your soup gets to thick add a can or two of chicken broth.

Once you have your Homemade Tomato Soup made your going to want to get a loaf of good fresh bread and a jar of peanut butter. Make and serve peanut butter sandwiches with this soup and I think you'll find you've just discovered on of the most delightful flavor combination's you will ever taste.
